There were substantially more leaves in my parking area than usual as well as a rogue shopping bag. Devastating to see.
Surprised the early warning sirens didn't go off because of this devastation.

But how was the landing?

High time for you to apply for the Swiss passport.

I've been thinking of starting a thread to ask if anybody knows who I should contact about the bag I found in my parking area. I'm not sure should I just stick a note on it saying if its not picked up the police will be informed about the littering.
As for the leaves, I know which tree the belong to so I shall return the offending detritus to the appropriate yard.

You still have a thing or two to learn: Complaining about littering, then disposing leaves in the neighbour's yard?
As you said, you know the trees. Buy glue (we highly trust in UHU here in Switzerland) and put them back to where they came from! Make sure to do this exact, no swapping branches, botching, etc.).

You're correct!
There was UHU around in our house. Must have been that German stepmother who smuggled it in.

Well Ursus and Nadeschkin have a trillion jokes in their repertoire about UHU, I think that is to blame

I've heard of tree surgeons but this is taking it a bit far. I'm also concerned for the Uhus exposure to UHU. I'll look for some CEMENTIT later.

In the recent thriller that I saw, Black and Blue (2019) an injured cop was stitching up her deep wound with a glue .

If we talk a quality job with Swiss leaves then I would strongly recommend to use Loctite super glue. Just make sure that the finger don’t get “zusammen geklebt“ first.

But Uhu is what we call an owl here and they again sit in trees. Sounded like a lot better sales-argument to sell this project as natural solution than cementit, which sounds more like cement.

However, I enjoy imagining solving the leaves-on-tree puzzle.

Re: Storm Ciara

So when is this over?

This wind with it's noise and it's encroaching behaviour is grating on my nerves.
Storms always do. Luckily there aren't so many here.
I'm in a rotten mood by now and I'm not used to be in this state of mind. Being in a bad mood angers me even more than the storm itself.

So someone flip the switch, please?

An international colleague flying to Miami via Zurich was stranded in the airport with CHF 20 for snacks handed out by Swiss Air.

Re: Storm Ciara

The storm ended, too soon

Yesterday was a good day for highway driving. Due to the strong winds, all the small commercial vehicles (white vans) were driving at 90 km/h on the right lane. Today, back to normal. The plumber and the electrician are back to blocking the left lane while driving below 120 km/h.

The latest weather report combined with traffic report says that ... During the storm all vehicles licensed Achtung Gefahr were behaving beyond expectations! As soon as the storm subsided, whole of Aargau returned to daily business as usual.

Re: Storm Ciara

The AlertSwiss app just gave me an "end of alert" notification for my area (Geneva). Great - except I never received the "start of alert"
