simple fact of life,

men and women ARE NOT the same, everyone will be a lot happy if we all stopped pretending they are, if you really want equality, and all that entails lets start with say sports, no more splitting events by gender.

Then move onto pensions, everyone retires at the same age

how about maternity leave, everyone gets the same (the lower one)

etc etc

everyone wants equality only when it bring positives for them with none of the negatives
Not sure if you ever noticed, but women have some more physical impact. Same maternity leave for men and women would be unequal in my opinion.

you can't have selective equality, and that's the issue.

Not sure your numbers are quite right, but yes, it's clear that women in very unequal societies will often conform to the general views, that they're inferior and have fewer rights or abilities than men.

well that also depends,

as I said you either treat everyone equal, hence equality, or you don't. If you did women will gain in some areas and lose in others, but that's not what people want with equality, they want to pick and choose, almost like brexit lol

Not necessarily. We should treat people on their merit.

One might be a dick, regardless of gender, colour, shape etc .. Hence that person is less equal.

But we are often forced to treat people based on their entitlement, regardless of their merits.

That's misandry, relating a name for a male sexual organ to a negative trait. Why can't we be gender neutral and just say asshole?

Equality will only come when men no longer ;
don't need to hold doors open,
let ladies go first,
put down toilet seats,
get into life boats last,
remember anniversaries,
pay for everything,

etc ...
It's like the guy who refused to offer his train seat for a lady - a true believer in gender equality.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure the more way-out-there femist types would be genuinely offended if any man offered them a seat.

Yes, I have heard a similar one before. We are for equality, everyone is equally (under)paid.

Otherwise..

Chivalry and good manners don't discriminate.

One pretty shocking fact from the article was the amount of men who believed violence against women was ok. But if they believe the same was ok for men then they're also for gender equality, or?

If they're made of Lego or plasticine, not a real man.
