Re: Keir Starmer elected as new Labour Leader

Particular congratulations are in order for Labours performance in Grimsby. Jeremy Corbyn managed to win 7 council seats there.

Mr Starmer has managed to successfully defend zero of those seven.

Now facing a leadership challenge from far left in Dawn Butler- who'd be even more unelectable than him.

It's really dire to have a completely disfunctional opposition as the government seem to suffer no drop in support despite doing a pretty crap job at most things.

I agree, you need a good opposition for good governance, diverse opinions are very important even if it causes pain & embarrassment along the way.

Theresa May was the opposition last week & she was the ousted PM

Theresa May would have been a good PM in calm waters.

MPs called "M Hancock" have a record of nomen est Omen. Mike Hancock (Portsmouth South, Lib Dem) resigned following allegations of unwanted sexual approaches to female constituents.
