If it's any consolation, I also liked Tulsi Gabbard as she was a centrist Democrat but the establishment (aka...Hillary, discredited her from the outset and implied that she was a "Russian" agent/informant). What a shame as she is articulate and intelligent but I gather she was too much of a threat to the Democratic establishment. Like Bernie (a threat) but not as progressive as Bernie and probably too conservative too.

If Biden wins, and it looks as though he may well do (aside from literally DRAGGING Trump out of the White House as there is zero chance he will accept ANY loss...lol) I give Biden 6 months in office tops. Between the stress of the role as President, his failing mental acuity, and his son's issues - and the DOJ investigation calling him as witness to his son's money laundering investigation, my bet is he resigns after a short time (claiming health issues) and Kamilla becomes President. But what the heck do I know - or anyone for that matter?

I thought Biden would win by a huge margin given most polls I read.

Pass the popcorn

One glaring problem was found with Tulsi, she was anti war. She even introduced a bill a few years ago to officially stop funding (our own enemies for perpetual war) terrorist organizations. That bill went nowhere and so did her dreams. She knows too much.

So I am all out of the cheap wine, and tonight just aint worth uncorking a good bottle. Beer it is. Also I made a call to a good friend the other day and today he came through. So I am just over here all by myself singing along.

What do I do when my love is away?
(Does it worry you to be alone?)
How do I feel by the end of the day?
(Are you sad because you're on your own?)
No I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Seriously I just dont give AF anymore.

Whatever the outcome of this election... I just want peace. I'm tired of seeing so many Americans hate one another. I feel like, in many ways, I'm on the outside looking in now (because of living here), and what I see is a country destroying itself with its own hatred. I've read that 50 years ago, this kind of hatred between the left and the right didn't exist. Republicans and Democrats use to be able to sit down and have calm, rational conversations with one another and still invite each other over for dinner afterward. But now, it feels like there is a civil war going on in US politics, with most of us caught in the crossfire. And so much of the meaning has somehow been lost -- that of trying to actually improve the lives of Americans, regardless of their race or socioeconomic status.

I just want peace. I'm tired of the hate, and I'm tired of seeing my country destroy itself with it.
I think we need to get rid of career politicians... Republicans and Democrats here and vote for term limits for Congress and the Senate and that might help and then some. I think "this Swamp" to quote Trump enabled his presidency as many felt disenfranchised. The government did not help them nor protect their interests and Trump capitalized on this.

We need to enact term limits to change Washington/politics and to discourage special interest groups buying off politicians. Just my thoughts

Trumps twitter is sounding more and more desperate. It's like he's looking for someone to kick off on his behalf.

I found myself wondering the other day if extreme polarization is an inevitable consequence of a two-party system. I do think that some politicians are in it for the right reasons and that some aren't, but I also think that so much of it is just "smoke and mirrors." What I see increasingly happening in US politics is that it's become such a war of egos. It's no longer about the people of America but about politicians wanting to win for the sake of winning.

And from my perspective, at least, people have the ability to generate illusions and implant ideas in other people's minds for the sake of their own gain(s). Many of us are more easily 'programmed' than we're probably willing to admit... and ruled by our cognitive biases.

Term limits would be nice -- at least to hopefully get some younger, progressive minds in there. People who are a more true reflection of society and how it evolves over time.

If Biden does win this election, I can only hope that he will somehow be able to bring some sense of peace and balance back to the US. I do fear, though, that there is going to be a massive backlash coming from the right because I know sometimes it can be difficult to deal with defeat and some people will try to shift the narrative on it so that it doesn't appear as such. But only time will tell, I guess.

And if Trump wins, I can only hope that the US will be able to find a way to peacefully endure another four more years of him.

I've learned my lesson. The popularity vote means nothing. It's just a pre-game. The electoral vote is what counts.

Everyone I know likes her. Most Trump supporters I know said they would have voted for her and the only true Trumper I know said he would rather lose to Tulsi than any other Democrat. She could have been a unifying candidate. Imagine all the people, actually voting out of love and not hate, its not hard to do...... Well, actually yes, it is, as we can see. Not until we drain the "swamp" can we start to enjoy such candidates. Its still the "good ol boy" system but I dont think it will be that way much longer. I think, or hope, this election and all the following lawsuits and court battles (the signs of fraud is obvious) will expose and collapse the House of Cards. Maybe. Hopefully. What do I know Im just a dreamer, and slightly intoxicated.

Actually this one - like most I've seen - shows the current status of the count and not a projection
That was actually my point: the maps showing various states coloured solid blue or red are showing the news organisation's projection of the final result, not the actual certified final result. Some maps also show some states coloured in light blue or red -- these are the states where a final result can't be projected yet because the margin between the candidates is too small, or not enough votes have yet been counted to provide confidence in the projection.

Actually no!

The Trump campaign can only request a recount in Wisconsin if the margin is less than 1%; which they will not know until the count is finished.
That's correct, and that condition does apply. With 99% of expected votes having been counted in Wisconsin, Biden (49.45% of votes counted) and Trump (48.83%) are neck and neck -- just 20,510 votes separate them. Jo Jorgensen, other candidates, and write-ins have 1.72% of the vote (56,869, would be interesting to know where those votes might have gone if they hadn't been on the ballot) so far.

So the margin is about 0.6% -- very much less than 1%. I guess you could argue that if 100% of the remaining 1% of votes to be counted went to Biden, then the margin would be more than 1%, but...

I had to LOL. Talk about draining the swamp. Ask any insider on how to get rid of all the bad politicians and bureaucrats and the number one answer you will get will be to give them all a drug test. Whats good for the goose should be good for the gander, order? Drug abuse in D.C is no secret. The scale of it is.

Question: How does one get ahead in D.C?

Answer: I honestly dont know, but I do know my playlist is straight up jamming tonight.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

HuffPost, apparently prepared to stick its neck out, projects the old Democrat Wall all going (back) to Biden -- Wisconsin and Michigan joining Minnesota on his side of the ledger -- with (according to them) only five states left in the balance. Everyone knows that Alaska will stay red, so really it's only four.

So they have Biden with 264 Electoral College votes now, just one state away from victory. Biden is ahead in Nevada (6 EC votes) and could still overhaul Trump in Pennsylvania, as there is a mountain of mail ballots still to be counted and they have been strongly favouring him so far.

ABC has not yet declared Arizona and has Biden 253, Trump 214.

FOX has gone with the same map as Huffington Post.

Meanwhile the Senate races appear finely balanced at Dem (including the two independents who caucus with the Democrats) 47, Rep 48 -- 5 seats left to call.

For a brief glimpse of normality
Quote:
International election observers in the U.S. offered a sharp rebuke of President Trump on Wednesday, criticizing his attacks on the vote counting process and his premature claims that he has won the 2020 election.

“Nobody, no politician, no elected official, nobody, should limit people's rights to votes coming after such a highly dynamic campaign,” said Michael Georg Link, special coordinator and leader of the short-term observer mission from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

I just had an interesting, hypothetical thought: What happens if one of the candidates wins the election, scrapes through, with 270 Electoral College votes...

... and a faithless elector (or two) votes in opposition to his/her pledged vote on 14 December?

Well, I know what would happen -- the election result would be turned on its head -- but I wonder what the consequences would be.

NBC explains in just over six minutes why mail-in ballots tend to be heavily Democratic-leaning and therefore why the lead in so many states, potentially including Pennsylvania, has switched from Republican to Democrat.

Here's another view of the flipped lead issue. Bernie Sanders is a soothsayer... or maybe just a very wise old campaigner. Here he is predicting ten days before the election that the lead in PA, WI and MI (among others) would flip once mailed-in ballots were counted, and that Trump would announce victory early, only to see the tide turn.

Say what you will about Bernie, the guy shines way brighter than either of the two nominated major party candidates.

(The video is from Jimmy Fallon's show, but click with confidence, Jimmy only talks for a couple of seconds. He must be the least intelligent host on US late night TV, and that's really saying something.)
