I wonder what would happen if Biden won and Trump refused to recognise the win and refused to hand over power.
One hopes the Republican party will come to its senses, realise the game is over and guide him out. Preserving democracy and the rule of law is far more important than his ego.

It would also be the first step towards healing their terrible reputation.

Sadly this result isn't really a sufficient repudiation of the mans character.

Georgia has about 42,000 ballots left to count, the state's voting system implementation manager, Gabriel Sterling, said during a news briefing this afternoon.

With 98% of the estimated vote total reported, Trump leads in Georgia by about 13,000 votes, according to the AP.
Georgia is now at the tipping -- or flipping -- point, with Trump leading by less than 1,797 votes and more than enough votes left to count for Biden to take a substantial lead if he continues winning these postal ballots at the rate he has been (around 80% at the moment).

If Biden wins Georgia and loses all the other states still in play -- unlikely, as he looks like winning Nevada and probably Philadelphia -- we would have the "constitutional crisis" scenario: a tied Electoral College vote, 269:269. Then the House of Representatives would decide the election of the president, and the Senate would elect the vice-president. Although the House is dominated by the Democrats, each state delegation there has just one vote, and I think there are more Republican-dominated states than Democrat. Welcome back, President Trump and VP Pence, but with a whole mountain of trouble and lingering claims of lack of a mandate, especially since Biden will have won the popular vote by what seems certain to be well over 4 million votes. There's also the slim possibility of President Biden and VP Pence (or whomever the Republicans in the Senate decide to elect).

He is of course right and just pointing out what should by now be so obvious that no-one can ignore it... Donald Trump IS a fascist.

Where on earth would someone who gets the "popular vote" as they call it won't win the elections? You gotta love this archaic system.

How Narcissists Play the Victim and Twist the Story
https://blogs.psychcentral.com/psych...sist-delusion/

"Delusion and denial

Narcissists canít deal with reality because it contradicts what they want to be true, and this creates painful emotions. As a coping mechanism, they learn to delude themselves that what is real is actually not real, and however they see the situation is real, even though it isnít.

Sometimes they truly see it that way. Other times itís just a story they tell themselves and others. And often the longer you tell a story, the more you believe it, even if initially you know itís not true. And so eventually they may start truly believing it.

Either way, the first step is to create a version of events that is an alternative to what actually happened or whatís going on.

And yet the irony is that Trump spreads fake news and propaganda like a virus and then criticizes the media for doing exactly what he himself does.

But regarding social media, I think that needs to be dismantled due to the ways those sites are designed to program people's minds -- not simply in terms of what information they're being fed but in terms of how those sites are designed to trap people in a dopamine feedback loop, exploiting the "reward centers" of their brains (i.e. generating addiction and the desire for more "likes"). Excess dopamine causes psychopathy and schizophrenia.

Zuckerberg is a puppet master, and he's made billions by exploiting weaknesses in human psychology.

Yep. e.g. Cambridge Analytica and "Russian bots." Social media is the perfect tool for mass surveillance and mass mind control.

https://www.npr.org/2017/11/05/56205...th-social-bots
First he was pumped up by a slutty media who thought he's all in the entertainment and popularity business till he got himself in a position he could no longer be supported or ignored. The media was very harsh on him, true, probably making up for its complacence.

As for Cambridge Analytica and "Russian bots" - the new warfare. Quite typical for our times.

Finally the media are showing some balls and standing up to the Orange Muppet. Here's another on the money insight from CNN's Intl. news anchor Christiane Amanpour via Twitter:

"The last President I covered who refused to accept the vote count in an election was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran, 2009."

Apparently, police in Philadelphia have stopped a planned attack on the Pennsylvania Convention Center, where votes are currently being counted.

"Police in Philadelphia are investigating an alleged plot to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Centre where election ballots are being counted.

They received a tip that either an individual or a group was travelling to the city from Virginia in a Hummer with the intention of attacking the convention hall.

A man has been taken into custody and a weapon recovered."

The latest tally has the race separated by around just 600 votes, with further tranches of ballots from Biden-leaning precincts expected before long according to The Guardian.

According to CNN Biden is only 19,000 votes behind Trump in Pennsylvania with around 300,000 votes left to count. He has caught up with Trump in Georgia with around 30,000 mail-in votes from a Dem leaning county left to count
Nevada and (less likely) North Carolina are still open.

In Georgia, Trump is just 463 votes ahead of Biden, with 99% counted and 3,500 mail-in and provisional ballots left to count in Clayton County, that voted 84% for Hillary Clinton in 2016. An unknown number of military ballots also still to be counted.

Here's who is leading in the 5 key states
