It's like he's hijacked the GOP. Hopefully at least more members of his current support base will eventually 'wake up' as well. I think many of them viewed him as some kind of hero, and one who was going to beat Biden, but now they're going to be forced to confront reality (even regardless of whether or not they're willing to accept it). Maybe some will, over time, become disillusioned.
Perhaps. Sometimes I fear that he didn't so much hijack it as showcase it.

Those who are found and set free after a hijack are typically glad the ordeal is over. In the case of Trump's party members, on the other hand, many who worked alongside him think he's just great, and clearly nearly half of those who voted now, deliberately chose him.

With his insistance on being right even in the face of facts, and his self-opinionated outbursts, he opened a door to something ugly. He claimed for himself and for all those who think like him, both in office and on the street, the right to do away with decorum, manners and reasonableness, to scorn thinking that is different from his/their own, and instead to stand up and admit and even claim the aggression and the wild, irrational accusations, etc.. I find that both sad and truly scary.

Come on... that is such a load of BS to even bring up the spectre of Hitler. You don't have to be a Trump supporter to suspect that massive amounts of voter fraud are involved in this election. Anyone with any bit of statistical training would have to smell (at least) a hint of something being off here. Read through this post from a 1st generation American of Portuguese descent and tell me that it doesn't at least make you think... What a shameful post, Castro!

10/10 for your effort try and sound intellectual while saying something that has repeatedly been shown to have NO evidence behind it.

You mention MASSIVE voter fraud and yet if people had statistical training the would only smell a hint of something being off? If it was massive it would simply be obvious.

Stop embarrassing yourself with this nonsense.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

I don't need to "try" to sound intellectual to present a logical perspective. And I don't need to be a Trump supporter, nor a conservative (American), to understand that there is serious malfeasance happening in the American electoral process. If you read the link that I provided, it explains why anyone should have doubts about what is going on. The evidence will follow and it is not my job to present it. There will be plenty of professionals presenting it soon. I have siad numerous times that I have voted Democrat and Republican since 1982. But the Democratic party that I used to support occasionally has been highjacked completely and no longer follows any ethics that I recognize.

PS - WRT "embarrassing myself with this nonsense" I have my personal beliefs and I tend to stay away from emotion in my posts. I am not embarrassed in the least with 14 yrs of posts. I have followed many of yours about HiFi and dogs, but when it comes to politics, it often sounds to me like I am listening to a teenage boy (which I know you are not).

Would in a place that people showed a sudden and incredible civic responsibility and voted much more - in an undemocratic and deceitful system - be democracy wasted, then? US used to be the model of "how to" in democracy. How is that going to develop? What bothers me aside of the situation being even possible, is the fact that so many people were scared to own up to their votes in public, in media, family, at polls. It is by definition the opposite of democracy.

Where and how on earth do you come up with this these kind of nonsensical statements? People being 'scared to own up to how they voted' is not even remotely 'by definition the opposite of democracy'. The opposite of democracy is Autocracy, which is what Trump was doing his best to head towards.

The reason people are worried about stating who they voted for is because Trump, a pathological liar and narcissistic psychopath, has actively and purposefully polarised an entire nation to the point where it's a "them or us" situation. He did that. On purpose.

Anyone who by this point that doesn't understand this, with his unprecedented and deeply undemocratic behaviour, can only be described as deeply delusional and/or in denial.

Reading through the comments on the posted article, it's obvious that the whole election theft fiasco must have all been the work of the Demoncrats and Soros.

Holy freaking crap. I wasted all 3 minutes of my life reading that conspiracy theorist's blog post. It's littered with made-up claims (e.g. "poll observers being removed", "the dem observers outnumber the GOP observers 3 to 1", "USPS whistleblower reporting to the Inspector General that today they were ordered to backdate ballots to yesterday", "Big Tech and the media had a concentrated censorship effort to stop what was probably the juiciest October Surprise in modern history", and so on).

Nothing to see here, let's move on.

These threads are always great for highlighting beyond any doubt (although for some members it was already very obvious) who the less sane and rational people on the forum are. I always find it fascinating to see people who would otherwise post sensibly on other topics transform into people who believe and repeat outrageous lies or spread borderline insane conspiracy theories.

To quote a senior Republican figure "If the Dems are so good at voter fraud then where were they in 2016?"

Even with my tin foil hat on it is impossible to give any credence to these conspiracy theories it seems that the website also presumably does not believe since your link has disappeared.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

For months, Democrats have focused on mail in ballots as an alternative. As a group, Democratic voters wish to avoid possible infection, and in some places, voter intimidation.

2016 was characterized by lackluster turnout, so there has been lots of push to vote, and given the situation, push to vote absentee or via mail. By contrast, Republicans have focused on voting in person on Election Day.

Republican state legislatures (like PA) set rules like, you can only count votes on/after Election Day, so of course those votes are tabulated after Election Day. In NC, absentee ballot requirements were changed midstream to require signatures, confusing a lot of people. Voter suppression is still a much more serious problem than voter fraud.

So, of course the votes received by mail represent Democrats. And it takes time to count and check. So they are uploaded in batches, usually at the end of a shift.

You don’t need much statistical insight to get this.

So far Trump with his legion of lawyers has failed to provide any evidence at all of the serious malfeasance happening in the American electoral process.

Indeed his legal moves have had no significant impact, this time he has bitten off more than he can chew.
The Bush/Gore legal action involved just one State; now Trump wants to fight actions in multiple states - a daunting challenge especially when his lawyers fear they will not get paid.

Right. Because the world would be so much better off if everyone was constantly having their minds programmed by lies and misinformation.

The reality is that web sites are not the correct place to prove right or wrong; people have inflated ideas about their importance.

Proof can only be found in the legal process, not in echo chambers and not in fact free debates.

I think there are two kinds of people in the world: Those who allow facts, truth and reality to shape their beliefs and those who filter their understanding of reality according to their beliefs... what they want to be true rather than what it is.

I find comments like this astonishing, you haven't got a shred of evidence yet you're rubbishing your own democracy and country. Despite Trump's stint America is still the greatest democracy in the world imho. And for the record I am no Biden fan, he's just not Trump.
