You want to start quoting stupid statements from Biden? Feel free to check out Donald J. Trump on Twitter - since long before he was president. Far worse nonsense being spouted there.

Here's how Trump would probably phrase that, and has done in slightly different ways over the years: "Poor kids are poor because their parents are lazy, job-stealing, benefits-mooching immigrants. They'll never be as bright and talented as rich white kids."

Bet you said he wont in 2016 too.
It wasn’t a landslide, that requires 75% of the EC votes.

He did indeed, or very close to those words. He also said Obama was "clean and articulate" or something quite similar as well.

He's kind of gaffe-prone.

There is nothing racist about that statement, though.. Because there is nothing racist about acknowledging the fact that there is a disproportionately much higher poverty rate among blacks in the US compared to whites (27.4 percent versus 9.9 percent, respectively). There is also nothing racist about acknowledging the fact that kids in black communities in the US have less access to resources and opportunities compared to kids in communities and schools that are not in impoverished areas. It's something you learn about in any basic sociology class in university in the US.

The Concentration of Poverty in American Schools

"In almost all major American cities, most African American and Hispanic students attend public schools where a majority of their classmates qualify as poor or low-income, a new analysis of federal data shows.
This systemic economic and racial isolation looms as a huge obstacle for efforts to make a quality education available to all American students. Researchers have found that the single-most powerful predictor of racial gaps in educational achievement is the extent to which students attend schools surrounded by other low-income students."

So it was in fact a brilliant statement from Joe Biden.

I wouldn't say that it was brilliant, but I also wouldn't say that it is what some people have tried to make it out to be. It's interesting -- the way people can distort things with their minds -- especially if it's something they want to use to try to validate their cognitive biases.

Kasich did run for president in 2016. And lost to Trump in the primaries.
I suspect that cannut's post was laced with Swiss irony... I'm sure he remembers that Kasich was the last man standing against Trump.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

I just finished watching and listening to Biden and Harris speak together for the first time since she was announced as his running mate (it was broadcast live). It's absolutely beautiful, and I admit... I'm teary (but in a good way). She had the most beautiful things to say about his son Beau (who had died of brain cancer) and their relationship as father and son and about how Joe Biden has always been someone who puts others before himself. And she had so many encouraging words about getting America balanced again. This is the first time in a long time where I really feel like maybe there is some hope for America yet.

Especially now, after seeing her speak tonight, I completely understand why Biden chose her. She is strong, intelligent and warm. Compassionate and mature. She comes across as someone who truly cares about people.

yeh i just watched that too. i love the politics stuff! i thought she was also great cross questioning various people during the trump impeachment trial. btw i thought biden was flawless, from the perspective of him being a bit disjointed (ahem) let's say, during the primaries.

The daggers are out and Harris is being thoroughly examined with any flaws being posted on FB, Twitter and the opinion pages of newspapers. She's going to need some tough skin to get through this.

I still like her.
I wouldn't worry about her getting through this because as a politician/prosecutor she was (most probably) aware of everything that might be coming and she knows the value of these "examinations"...but, as they say, never underestimate the effect of repeated lies on the public...They don't have to find any flaws and I doubt they will, they only have to act as if they found something..

But, she's a big "girl", she'll handle all the lies and false accusations. I can't wait to see her ruffle some feathers.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

In the meantime, Trump is using his press conferences to diss the competition. Every time he stands in front of that podium, a cacophony of lies, false accusations, fake truths, and Republican superiority leave his lips. He’s using the taxpayers money to campaign while offering no quality, efficiency, innovation or insight in his role as President.

Biden may have his gaffes and Harris may have been brutal during her campaign as a presidential candidate but they’ve overcome their differences and will prove to be a power team.

All candidates have their flaws but Trump demonstrates his incompetency on a daily level.

So Harris is a very popular choice.

"Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace on Wednesday said Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) is "a reasonably safe choice" for Democrats, adding that the presumptive vice presidential nominee isn't very far to the left on the political spectrum.

Meanwhile Journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, his second on the Trump presidency, is scheduled to be released Sept. 15 and will include 25 personal letters exchanged between President Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un, according to details of the book revealed by publisher Simon & Schuster on Wednesday.

The 25 letters obtained by Woodward have never been public,
