Feel free to. We're all entitled to our opinions.

You essentially accused me of being a Trump apologist, which I'm not. I have a lot of friends who are Trump fans, and I know they're not going to even consider getting behind Biden until it's official he won after all the legal wrangling. Seems logical to me that the R leadership would also do that.

Perhaps it would be best if at least one case wound up in the Supreme Court. Then his 3 hand-picked judges (and the others) can tell him no, you didn't actually win the election and there is no widespread fraud.
I also have friends who are Trump fans; I seriously doubt making it official will make them change their opinions even a little bit.

I commented on your explanation; I did not accuse you of anything.

I'm explaining in response to komsomolez why I think Rs are mostly silent so far. I don't think they all will be forever.

Wait until it's official. As Trump says, no one likes a loser. I imagine many Rs will abandon him once it's official. Some will be noisy about how they never liked him in the first place and others will only offer a bland congratulations. A few will continue to defend him and claim fraud, such is life.
He lost. There is no coming back. And the time to abandon him to preserve an iota of credibility was maybe half a year ago.

Trump will continue to be a major Twitter user influencing his cult base on who to vote for so very few R's will criticise him and consequently, Ivana Marie "Ivanka" Trump will be a powerful 2024 contender.
Totally agree on him continuing to use Twitter all the time. Hope you're wrong on Ivanka but suspect you're not - at least not in terms of her considering a run for office.

I'm sure the Trumps will try to stay in the news. At the same time I suspect there are several Rs (like Cruz and Rubio) who want their shot in the WH. I wouldn't think they would automatically roll over and let Ivanka have the job they've dreamt of.

If Trump himself declares for 2024 as discussed above, all bets are off.

Former president D.Trump acts like a spoilt brat deprived of his favourite toy. Let it go - even Melani tells him to accept the loss. Soon she will divorce him anyway once those shenanigans are over. It’s really getting silly.

Bring back Sean Spicer !!

What Trump needs to do is re-appoint Sean Spicer as his White House Press Secretary to deflect and contradict all
the Politicians & Media reporters that he should go before the legal challanges.

in what way is Trump a fascist? I can't stand him personally but I am interested to read why you call him a fascist.
It's all about emotion, not facts. Reading into which opinions are "hot" at the moment, and empowering them to stir up hate and eventually ignite a violent overthrow of the establishment. Fortunately though, for the last part, he's just too stupid to successfully do that.

Also this cult he created: The hats, "MAGA" de facto serving like a fascist salute, the flags, the conspiracy theories.

I genuinely feel sorry for the people he used. His voters have every right to be angry, disappointed and to be heard. Globalisation, speculation and the unemployment connected with it have totally thrown mainly rural hard working folks off the track. But again: Instead of working on a solution, he just feels the pulse and stirs up the hate... and ironically he himself a big player causing these issues.

As this is EF Switzerland, let me throw in a local prime example of a fascist: James Schwarzenbach. He even described himself as such. Got to admire the honesty at least.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

I think that Trump can't bear the thought of no longer being relevant or in the spotlight... and I think he also can't stand the thought of Biden getting more attention than he is. He's going to try to drag this thing out as long as possible because 1. It gives him the attention he craves, and 2. It gives him the validation he craves, from his supporters.

Five years from now, he'll probably still be throwing Twitter tantrums and tweeting about how he believes he lost the election unfairly.

What we're seeing now is a good example of why delusional narcissists shouldn't be put into power in the first place.

Keep recycling these posts but you are never going to find a 30 years younger beautiful woman who will be interested in you.

King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly congratulated Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris today according to the Saudi Press Agency, the state news agency of Saudi Arabia.

Now it just needs some Rs

Evidence of peaceful protests.

About 93% of racial justice protests in the US have been peaceful according to a report produced by the US Crisis Project, a joint effort by the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) and the Bridging Divides Initiative (BDI) at Princeton University, which collects and analyzes real-time data on demonstrations and political violence in the US.
According to your link a couple days ago the remaining 7% leave 470 or so violent riots, more than three per day (assuming the period measured ran thru October; OTOH it's something like five per day if it's just thru August as many observations do).

Yes, it's all completely peaceful. Until it isn't.
There's a reason why crime rates went through the roof after Floyd's death.

This account from a pro golfer who knew and played with Trump and saw him cheating regularly is worth watching even if only for the best satirical cartoon caricatures I have ever seen of Trump and Co...

So unsprurpising that he even cheated at golf.

Yes, but it‘s not clear that the perpetrators are BLM, and many of those arrested are young people from the suburbs, not the cities...

„Demonstrators did not engage in violence or destructive activity in more than 93% of the more than 7,750 demonstrations across thousands of locations in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., between May 26 and late August, according to a report by the U.S. Crisis Monitor, a joint effort including Princeton University that collects and analyzes real-time data on demonstrations and political violence in the U.S.

To be sure, demonstrations were violent or destructive in about 220 locations, instigated by protesters, counterprotesters, police and other armed people, the report said. People from those groups, as well as bystanders and journalists, have been injured and killed, and buildings, vehicles and more have been damaged.

Very few of those charged in protest-related arrests appear to be affiliated with highly organized extremist groups, and many are young suburban adults from the very neighborhoods Trump vows to protect from violence, according to a review of thousands of pages of court documents by the Associated Press.“

https://eu.usatoday.com/in-depth/new...ul/3640564001/

In these cases, good data are hard to come by, so people believe what they‘re going to believe.

It would be funny if everyone convinced Trump that he had suddenly actually won the election due to the mail-in vote counts suddenly turning in his favor, and then to see him demand that the election results and the mail-in ballots are valid.

I was just telling a friend a few minutes ago that one of the bonuses of him losing the election is that now we will finally be able to ignore him (despite the fact that he will, of course, desperately try to remain in the spotlight). Giving him attention is just "feeding the monster," really.
