Couldn't agree more. Whether one likes it or not, there are 70 million people who thought that either the last 4 years were good for them, or think that another 4 years of a Trump presidency are preferable to a more liberal agenda. The question to ask is how you break down these 70 million people into their main constituent demographics/psychographics, e.g.:
- How many are traditional conservatives worried about administrative overreach, government size, regulation/deregulation, etc
- How many are conservative religious individuals (incl. evangelicals), worried about the increasingly secularization of social life (e.g. liberal-driven separation of state and church, prohibition of religion instruction in public schools, etc)
- How many are just voting R out of tradition/habit, and aren't very interested in politics to hold strong opinions
- How many are just racists/white supremacists, etc.
- Any other major group I may have missed

I have the theory that MANY Americans just are flat-out ignorant of the basic difference between the current center and the center-left, the Democratic platform, and what "socialism" or "communism" actually is.

Edit: this is an interesting starting point for this discussion from the Financial Times:

Edison Research! Hmm! Didn't they invent the lightbulb and telephone?

Yes, but it‘s not clear that the perpetrators are BLM, and many of those arrested are young people from the suburbs, not the cities...
So you want to play semantics. Ok let's play, that'll be fun!

Start by providing corroborating quantitative evidence for your claim that "many are from the suburbs". To be honest I'm not sure how that's relevant to begin with, but it's your claim and for the time being I'm Ok with playing.

And 40 per day were peaceful.
The shopkeepers and house owners whose livelihoods got destroyed out of pure wanton and hate will be deeply thankful for that as it will make their plight so much easier.

And the people who mourn their loved ones who got murdered by protesters will definitely jump out of pure joy. Especially those who lost their toddler or even baby.

For a moment I really thought that you find events like that caused by Kyle Rittenhouse deeply problematic, too. But apparently that's a complete non-event to you as that's one of the 5% that, according to what you imply, can be safely ignored.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Trump just fired Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.
What a petty mean spirited President, basically because Esper wanted to be neutral and keep the military out of politics.

Maybe Biden will give him a job, it would be one less person needing approval by a probably GOP majority Senate..

Tramp wants to recount the votes in several states - is it possible that he “wins” as the result of the recount? What happens in such situation?

In 2016 Wisconsin did a recount. The second count was around 100 votes different from the first one. It is a very long shot to move any of the ec vote.

The election isn’t actually over until the electoral collage votes in mid December. And Trump remains President until 20 January, unless he resigns.

Basically the recounts are unlikely to change the result by more than a couple of hundred. So nothing will change.

In the highly unlikely event that the result did change the recount would stand. Again, very very very unlikely.

Based on my experience, I'd say no there is no chance he'd flip the votes by that much in that many states to win the election.

Each state has its own laws about recounts. Some states have automatic recounts if the difference between candidates is under a certain percentage. Other states, like WI and GA, don't have automatic recounts. They have to be requested after a certain percentage difference is certified.

I won't quote them all here, but you can change the state name on Ballotpedia to check those you're interested in.

HTH

You could not make this stuff up.
Quote:
An adviser for President Donald Trump's campaign, David Bossie, has tested positive for coronavirus only days after he was tapped to oversee the campaign's legal challenges contesting the outcome of the election.

Bossie a political phoenix.
He went from being a top campaign adviser and possible chief of staff candidate to the ostensible subject of a blistering Trump campaign statement issued after allegations emerged that Bossie was using one of his political groups to profit off the president’s name.

And then, just like that, he was back on Trump’s call list, given a campaign role and welcomed on presidential trips
Hope he did not give the virus to too many lawyers.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

According to the Associated Press, there have been 31 recounts in statewide elections since 2000, and only three of them have changed the outcome of an election.

Experts say recounts are highly unlikely to change the outcome of this presidential election because Biden is currently leading by at least 20,000 votes in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania.
A recount could theoretically alter the outcome in Georgia, but Biden does not need to win the state to pass the 270 electoral vote threshold.

Oh goodness. He's absolutely right. Especially about the characters who congratulated him and tried to emulate him over the past 4 years. That should tell everything about his presidency.

"Liberal-driven separation of state and church"? Really? Don't you mean "Separation of church and state, as required by the first clause in the Bill of Rights, which states 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.'"?

A secular USA is a legal requirement of the US Constitution.

So I guess you're saying that the Democratic Party is the party of adherence to the Constitution, while the Republicans run roughshod all over it.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Dr Ben Carson, onetime presidential candidate and since 2017, bearer of the coveted title of 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, is the latest White House insider to contract COVID-19.

What a leaving gift, adding insult to the injury of leading the most glamorous US government department.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

I just noticed that RealClearPolitics has not called Pennsylvania for Biden -- or maybe retracted calling it? -- and has Biden on only 259 Electoral College votes. Ha, makes a mockery of those claims that they are "balanced", when even Trump favourites like FOX News and Newsmax have Biden as the winner (of both PA and the whole election).

Yes, that's what I meant...although poorly written. I perhaps should have said "separation of church and state enforcement".

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

The US is now officially a banana republic.
Quote:
Attorney General William Barr has authorized the Department of Justice to investigate any "substantial allegations" of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Presumably, in response, the New York Times reported that the head of voter fraud investigations at the department, Richard Pilger, stepped down from his post hours after Barr's announcement.
Edit: Richard Pilger, director of the elections crimes branch in the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section, told colleagues in an email that the attorney general was issuing "an important new policy abrogating the forty-year-old Non-Interference Policy for ballot fraud investigations in the period prior to elections becoming certified and uncontested."
Pilger also forwarded the memo to colleagues in his resignation letter.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Will the mainstream media and social media in the US are about to learn that they can't have it both ways? It's miraculous that the moment Joe Biden is elected they suddenly learn about journalistic integrity! After allowing millions of words of lies to be printed over groundless conspiracy theories like Russia and Cambridge Analytica in the last 4 years, they now feel the need to cut away from Kayleigh McEnany mid press conference, or tag tweets alleging electoral fraud as misinformation.
