I don’t think that he is mentally sick and doesn’t understand the outcome of the election. He is fighting back with lawsuits and recounts. I think he should not be portrayed as a harmless mental old man, I believe he is not crazy and still could be dangerous to his opponents.
I think he's a dangerous deranged old man. Who has never really been told no in his life. He lives by "I want therefore I take."

You got to hand it to the democrats. They have opened the way to USAs first woman president
They should have just nominated Tulsi Gabbardand and I think she would have won outright No Democrat would have voted for Trump but maybe more Republicans would have voted for her. Better person and leader that Kamala in my opinion.

He definitely is not acting like a rational man.

I think he's a spoiled, pampered narcissist. Everything revolves around him. I'm not sure what hold he has over other Republicans, but the fact that they seem to circle around him and protect his fantasies, is disturbing. He has changed the GOP into his own image and that's unfortunate.

And he's a poor looser, to boot. He needs to go.

The answer to your question is 70 million votes. No sane GOP will publicly distance from Trump now as there's too much to lose. My speculation is that the GOP will very carefully and slowly distance itself from Trump as his brand is now basically bigger than the party brand. It will also depend on his next move - if he announces anytime soon that he'll run again in 2024, the GOP might be in trouble for the foreseeable future.

I'm not so sure, it all depends on how he comes out of the legal cases pending. All Donald Trump has to do is sit on the sidelines slinging mud for four years highlighting any decline in the economy/jobs and every mistake Joe Biden makes. Come 2024 it will be easy to present himself (to that 70 million) as the man to fix everything again.

Four years is a long time, however it's quite easy to see Donald Trump walking the primaries.

Maybe. But 4 years is a long time. He'll be 77, right? As old as Biden is now....but it depends on how well he ages. And, if the southern district of New York has their way, he might be embroiled in legal action.

Since WWII, the economy has performed better under Democratic presidents than Republicans.

What makes me cringe is that Biden uses the words“ god“ and “keep the faith “ regularly.
Biden's a devout Catholic. Surprisingly, he will be only the second ever Catholic President of the USA. JFK was the first.

I'd rather a believer in a magical sky fairy than someone out only for his self-aggrandisement and -enrichment.

More news. Rumours have it Melania is planning a divorce. “ Losers are not sexy“
I think you may find that Melania has had that planned since she married him. It was only the date that was subject to change.

Isn't he fundraising for the legal challenges? It won't be him paying them out of his own pocket then. He has paid himself from donor money in the past though...
Despite being other people's money Donny hates to pay for anything in advance. So funding reelections in advance and extending people's contracts when the outcome is not certain are against his ways of doing business.

Probably good news for the Dems if he stands again in 2024.

I hate to say it but looking at the overall results he should have won. The R's won House seats, held State legislatures and currently hold the Senate majority.
A clever man would have been elected President. Donny should have toned down his insults, avoided statements that could be classed as racist, and concentrated on his achievements. His advisers told him that but he ignored them.

Exactly my thoughts.

And by the way, since WWII the very best stock market and economy performance has been under a Democratic president and a divided Congress -- exactly what is expected at least until January 2023.

I'd be happy to put money on DJT being dead, in prison, or too mentally and/or physically (probably through a stroke) incapacitated to stand for any public office by the time 2024 rolls around.

Me too. Nepotism Barbie (Ivanka) or Dumb and Dumber (junior and Eric), or The rest of the Gang. I think not because they possess neither leadership nor political expertise.

Also, Ivanka and Jared are conservative (I don‘t think orthodox) Jews. America is not ready for that.

Tony,
I agree with you. Too many media sources cater to their readers and not to reporting the truth. Claiming to be a reliable news source while misleading their readers in the name of revenue should be illegal.
I look forward to hearing how this could be legally and practically possible.

Everyone knows that Trump is an atheist. Or more accurately, thinks he himself is god.

The religious right know that his deal with them is that they vote for him and he puts conservative religious judges into the supreme court. In the real world, the religious right would happily vote for a right-wing jew over a democrat. Particularly one with the Trump branding.

Every presidential candidate picks a VP to cover their own weakness. Biden picks Harris because he's an old white man. Trump picks Pence because Pence is a devout Christian.

He appeals to the insular racist selfish folk who truly believe he's a self-made man. He's somehow convinced them he's on their side whilst actuallt being on his own side. In this respect Johnson is truly Trump lite.

Wonder if Melania could be persuaded to take one for the team, give him a sex induced heart attack and not call 911 until too late?

It's gotten so much worse in the past four years though. The offhanded way they keep parroting the dismissal of Donald Trump's allegations as "unsubstantiated claims" is alarming.
Of course they're unsubstantiated at this stage, this is how the legal process works!
An allegation is made, evidence is collected and a case made before a court of law.
The basic problem with Trump's allegations is that they are completely unfocused, an allegation is a claim of a fact but there are no facts claimed.
If he alleged, for example, that fake ballot papers were used or Hunter laundered money then law enforcement could collect evidence but nobody can realistically investigate such broad-brush claims.

One would need many investigators in every State looking at every aspect of the election, Pennsylvania alone had over 700 polling places for the November 2020 election; it would fully occupy the FBI for years.

Edit: I mean how do you physically check 150 million votes?
