I think the problem with that fortune cookie is that it failed to consider the fact that everyone experiences life differently. Somehow I doubt this woman is able to find life to be a comedy even when she thinks.

Your post doesn't get full points because you didn't include a highlighted definition of the word famine.

Probably better suited for FB - Won't someone think of the starving children?

Here's an article on the Wisconsin lawsuit. Three voters filed suit to three counties in their entirety from the statewide official count:
https://eu.jsonline.com/story/news/p...ed/6311020002/

One of the voters apparently claimed that someone else told him the Elections Commission mailed him 10 absentee ballots (i.e. hearsay testimony).

The Elections Commission doesn't send ANY ballots. All ballots are sent by municipal clerks. They don't send 10 ballots to the same person because the computer system says nope, you already sent one.
Not only Wisconsin
Quote:
Voters in four states who had brought longshot lawsuits to disrupt President-elect Joe Biden's win and went nowhere in court dropped their cases Monday morning.

The cases were short-lived in Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania federal courts, and fed into a pro-Donald Trump legal strategy that's almost certain to fail to block Biden's presidential win before the Electoral College formalized it.

The suits mirrored one another and were all backed by the law firm of a nationally known conservative attorney, James Bopp Jr. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, the cases had also gone hand in hand with ones brought by the Trump campaign.

Have any of the officials actually stated that they are unwilling to honour the end of the Trump presidency and the start of Bidens on the 20th of January?
There's a partial answer here, at least about which senators have spoken about agreeing that Biden has won, and which have stated that they oppose that result, or said nothing.

Here’s How Every Senator and Congress Member Has Responded to Biden’s Victory - Updated 16 November 2020
https://www.snopes.com/news/2020/11/...tors-congress/
Of 253 Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate, only 14 had acknowledged Joe Biden as president-elect a week after he was declared the winner.

Readers can check what their local representatives have said by scrolling through the ... alphabetical list of states.

Each state’s lawmakers are grouped in accordance with what they have said since Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election on Nov. 7. We listed them in four groups:

Congratulated/accepted the result:
Publicly indicated they accepted Biden’s win or congratulated Biden and/or Harris
Rejected, cast doubt on, or conspicuously failed to accept the result:
Cast doubt on Biden’s victory, or suggested fraud was at play; falsely claimed Trump had won or would eventually be declared the winner; made a generic statement about election integrity and transparency after the Nov. 7. major media declaration of Biden’s victory.
Ambiguous:
Made remarks related to the election, but their exact meaning was unclear; made self-contradictory remarks about the election result; made generic statements about the election before the Nov. 7 declaration.
No statement:
They haven’t made any substantive statement about the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

My understanding was that the writ can only be issued when someone has either not performed a required action, or explicitly refuses to do so in the future.
President Trump’s administration has instructed senior agency officials to not cooperate with President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team amid the Trump campaign’s legal challenge to election outcomes in multiple battleground states, The Washington Post reported.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

The comedy continues
Quote:
Three attorneys representing President Trump’s campaign (the entire legal team) withdrew from a lawsuit challenging the election results in Pennsylvania on Monday.

Attorneys Linda Kerns, John Scott, and Douglas Bryan Hughes filed a motion to withdraw from the case Monday evening. The motion said that Marc Scaringi, an attorney in Harrisburg, would now represent the campaign.

“Marc A. Scaringi is aware of the schedule set by the Court in this matter and will be prepared to proceed according to that schedule,” the motion states.

Less than 90 minutes after the outgoing attorneys for the campaign assured U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Brann that “Scaringi is aware of the schedule ......,” Scaringi asked the judge to put off the session, arguing that he was inadequately prepared.

The federal judge rejected the move to postpone that key hearing.
He excused the two Texas-based attorneys who just formally joined the case on Friday (Scott and Hughes lasted only one business day), but did not immediately release a Pennsylvania lawyer who has served as local counsel since the suit was filed a week ago.

Lawyer Marc A. Scaringi said in his radio show on Nov. 7, according to a recording posted by the liberal group Media Matters, “At the end of the day, in my view, the litigation will not work. It will not reverse this election.”

In short, Trump didn't start any wars.

Tom
So Trump was the most war-averse, peace-mongering president who started no wars, eh?

Well, it wasn't for lack of trying. After ordering strikes against Iran a year ago, then pulling back at the last minute, he's at it again:

Trump asked advisers about possible strike on Iranian nuclear site

I can't believe that Trump would even need to ask advice on this topic. The consequences should be obvious, even to Trump.

ETA: The purported reason for Trump's aggression is that Iran now has 12 times the amount of low-enriched fissile material than that permitted under the 2015 Iran deal. Remember who reneged on that deal, thereby encouraging Iran to recommence fuel enrichment?

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Trump will have to pay $7.9 million for a recount in Wisconsin and he has to decide by 5 p.m. Wednesday whether he will request it, the Wisconsin Elections Commission said Monday.

Donny hates spending money so will likely be a last-minute decision if he decides at all, or he just lets it fade away.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Another Trump appointee fired for doing their job honestly.
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

The recent statement by Chris Krebs on the security of the 2020 Election was highly inaccurate, in that there were massive improprieties and fraud - including dead people voting, Poll Watchers not allowed into polling locations, “glitches” in the voting machines which changed votes from Trump to Biden, late voting, and many more.
Therefore, effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
Some people here have compared Trump to Hitler but a better comparison would be to Stalin, removing associates and trying to rewrite history.

The state Supreme Court in Harrisburg concluded by a 5-2 vote, that Philadelphia election officials had acted properly in their handling of the observation process; poll watchers were not sited too far away from the poll handlers.

Edit: The president's lawyer Giuliani alleged in the Pennsylvania court case, without providing any evidence, that voting in Pennsylvania was riddled with fraud. However, Giuliani later admitted to the judge that the Pennsylvania lawsuit was "not a fraud case."

A Michigan appeals court on Monday also upheld a lower court ruling allowing Wayne County, home of Detroit, to certify the election results. Republicans tried to invalidate the vote, arguing that it was marred by fraud, an argument the lower court judge dismissed as "not credible."

^^^ Yeah, I just saw that in the headlines a bit ago. Trump is a tyrant in action. He fires and/or tries to punish anyone who disagrees with him and doesn't go along with his own personal narrative. It's mind-blowing that some people refuse to admit it.

The law of unintended consequences is claimed to have struck again.
Quote:
Georgia elections chief, republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger says Trump 'suppressed' GOP vote, cost himself the State.

He said Tuesday that President Trump’s attacks on the integrity of mail-in voting contributed to his loss in the Peach State.

“Twenty-four thousand people did not vote in the Fall; they did not vote absentee because they were told by the president ‘don’t vote absentee, it’s not secure,’ but then they did not come out and vote in person. He would have won by 10,000 votes. He actually depressed, suppressed his own voting base."

I very well understand that people dislike everything Trump stands for but if people comparing him (or actually almost anybody) to Stalin or Hitler, should be ashamed and need a reality check. It's an insult to all those WW II, Holocaust and Gulag victims.

The comparisons that I've seen mentioned are usually more in regard to how they each rose to power and maintained that power and/or more from a psychological perspective.
