Trump had six more election legal cases thrown out yesterday in Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Michigan and Minnesota; mostly with scathing comments.
In Wisconsin, “Judicial acquiescence to such entreaties built on so flimsy a foundation would do indelible damage to every future election."
Meanwhile, a federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as minors from deportation, scoring a key win for immigrant advocacy groups.
“DHS is DIRECTED to post a public notice, within 3 calendar days of this Order...... it is accepting first-time requests for consideration of deferred action under DACA, renewal requests, and advance parole requests, ....
The judgment was based on a memo acting Homeland Security secretary Chad Wolf issued in July that curtailed DACA but the court ruled last month that Wolf had ascended to the post in violation of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, and said Friday that the memo was void.

Two more election legal cases were thrown out in Michigan and Georgia.
Both lawsuits were filed by "famed" conservative attorney Sidney Powell.
It is claimed the Georgia judge said amongst other scathing comments; "They want this court to substitute its judgment for that of 2.5 million Georgia voters who voted for Joe Biden, and this I am unwilling to do.
Judge Batten also said Powell’s request to completely reject the election results was the most “extraordinary relief ever sought in any federal court in connection with an election."
The Kraken's Lawsuit in Michigan, the judge wrote:
"The closest plaintiffs get to alleging that election machines and software changed votes for President Trump to Vice President Biden in Wayne County is an amalgamation of theories, conjecture and speculation that such alterations were possible," the ruling states. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/sid...orgia-michigan
Considering this Fox News there are a lot of anti-Trump comments.

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a bid by Pennsylvania Republicans to nullify President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the Keystone State, dealing another blow to the long-shot legal effort by President Trump and his allies to overturn the election in the courts.
Edit: Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis contracts coronavirus, source says
Probably caught it off Giuliani.

Does anyone know how many such lawsuits were started? How many have ended? How many are still running?

Probably caught it off Giuliani. | | | | | Probably a very important US SC decision because Trump believed the US SC judges he installed would give him the election.
Now it looks like they will behave like proper judges and throw his nonsense out.
One amusing aspect was Tuesday's one-line order was issued without a signature and importantly with no noted dissents or comments from any of the nine justices.
Presumably, the lack of a signature was to avoid giving Trump a target for his tweets.

Edit; The scrap heap of failed Trump-related litigation continued to accumulate, reaching 50 losses as of Tuesday, according to the tally kept by one prominent Democratic election litigator, Marc Elias.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | Does anyone know how many such lawsuits were started? How many have ended? How many are still running? | | | | | Forbes reports that Trump has now lost or withdrawn 50 election lawsuits and won 1, which was a minor victory to halt a time extension for curing a small number of mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania -- with no appreciable effect on the overall result in Philadelphia.
In addition, there have been "dozens" of lawsuits brought by the GOP or Trump associates, all of which have lost.
Trump still has several cases running -- not sure how many. The FT is running a lawsuit tracker but it doesn't seem to be comprehensive.
So Trump's current election lawsuit score is 1-50, which is even more impressive than American Samoa's 0-31 loss to Australia. In football, not rugby.

I'm beginning to wonder if Trump might actually be a bit of a masochist, because he appears to enjoy losing over and over and over...............
Can you just imagine what the Republicans' and Trump-supporters' reactions would be if it was Biden refusing to acknowledge that he had lost the election?

I think he's strategy is based on two things: on one side he's making sure that his hardcore voters remain convinced that he didn't lose, it was stolen from him. This is not mere vanity; it's important that he is seen in that way when he announces he will run for president again. Secondly, the more he prolongs that, the more millions he collects that he can spend whatever way he wants. So far he has collected >$150m. Maybe this was shared earlier in the thread, but this should be shocking to any thinking GOP supporter. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-u...mPXruWxG1MI2m0 https://www.businessinsider.com/trum...-plans-2020-12 | The following 5 users would like to thank gaburko for this useful post:

There's this action brought by the AG of Texas against PA, WI, GA, MI - that goes to the Supreme Court as well. And, apparently that's appropriate when one state wants to sue other states.
Turns out the AG of Texas is under investigation by the FBI - looking for a pardon?

Regaining Control of the Narrative https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/b...-the-narrative "One of the most important tools in a narcissist’s toolbox is the ability to control the narrative. Manipulation is a key trait of individuals with controlling personalities. Call it gaslighting, whitewashing, or rewriting the script: The crux of the matter is the manipulator’s desire to control the narrative and either be the hero or the victim.
Narcissists (and similar egomaniacs) are incredibly sensitive to criticism and any indication they are slipping in importance. They feel entitled to power, status, and whatever they deem necessary: money, attention, gifts, advancements, etc. If a manipulator is sensing they are losing their friend, lover, or influence at work, they will do anything necessary to regain that power… including rewriting the story."
How Narcissists Play the Victim and Twist the Story https://blogs.psychcentral.com/psych...sist-delusion/ "Delusion and denial
Narcissists can’t deal with reality because it contradicts what they want to be true, and this creates painful emotions. As a coping mechanism, they learn to delude themselves that what is real is actually not real, and however they see the situation is real, even though it isn’t.
Sometimes they truly see it that way. Other times it’s just a story they tell themselves and others. And often the longer you tell a story, the more you believe it, even if initially you know it’s not true. And so eventually they may start truly believing it.
Either way, the first step is to create a version of events that is an alternative to what actually happened or what’s going on." | This user would like to thank Pancakes for this useful post:

To me it's still fascinating how a mere human can have such sway over millions of humans and we're seeing first hand how religions probably formed ages ago.

A throw of the dice has numerous possible outcomes. This one has just two. Yes or No. I think the Supremes have already shown their reluctance to get dragged into this one.
Can an average taxpayer sue Trump for all the wasted government money these cases consume?

I would have thought it is hard for Texas to demonstrate damage from other states when Texas has held and completed their own Presidential election without issues.
In the UK defendants can ask the Court to order the other side to pay their costs; I do not know if such possibilities exist in US law.
According to google "the rule (called the American Rule) is that each party pays only their own attorneys' fees, regardless of whether they win or lose.", so it looks like suing Trump for all the wasted government money will be difficult
