| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | Florida-based electronic voting system company Smartmatic on Monday demanded three conservative media outlets retract their claims that its machines had flipped votes to President-elect Joe Biden, which the company's CEO said were part of a broader attack on election integrity.
Smartmatic issued legal notices and retraction demand letters to Fox News, Newsmax and One America News Network.
The company informed the three news outlets that it would reserve the right to sue for defamation and disparagement. | | | | | I am surprised they waited so long.

Electoral college is working like a Swiss watch. All electors voting as they should. I wonder how the mood is in the West Wing in this moment of final betrayal.

Apparently the rather reptilian Stephen Miller on Fox this morning said that Alternate Electors are voting in the disputed states, and those votes will be sent to congress for January 6 as well. Since both the House and senate would have to accept any alternate electors and reject the real ones, the chance of that happening is 0 pretty much everywhere.

He and Jared are the most creepy people I have ever seen.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | The two top Republican officials in the Michigan state legislature on Monday made clear the state would not award its electors to President Trump as tensions bubble in the state ahead of its formal Electoral College vote.
State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey (R) and House Speaker Lee Chatfield (R) issued separate statements on Monday making clear the legislature would not appoint electors that undercut the state's popular vote, which Joe Biden won by nearly 140,000 votes. The statements came as Michigan closed its legislative office buildings on Monday due to credible threats of violence. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | Wisconsin's Supreme Court on Monday rejected a legal challenge from President Trump's campaign seeking to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the key battleground state.
A majority decision from the state's high court said that the Trump campaign had failed to show that more than 220,000 votes were illegally cast and should be invalidated.
"The Campaign is not entitled to relief, and therefore does not succeed in its effort to strike votes and alter the certified winner of the 2020 presidential election," Justice Brian Hagedorn wrote for the majority. | | | | | Meanwhile, Trump's legacy lives on or dies on.... | Quote: | | | | Republicans four times more likely than Democrats not to get COVID-19 vaccine: poll
A total of 26 percent of Republican respondents said they would never get the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to 6 percent of Democrats and 14 percent of independents. | | | | | Edit; Ironic considering Trump's claims to be the driver for fast vaccine development.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?
California's Electoral College delegates have just voted and as expected, have pushed Joe Biden past the 270 votes needed to become the 46th US President. With just Hawaii's votes still to come, there have so far been no faithless voters, putting Biden on track for even more Electoral College votes than Trump won in his self-described "landslide victory" four years ago.
TIL today: watching an Electoral College vote is almost as interesting as watching paint dry.
The talk is that Trump is now looking for some sort of miracle on 6 January, when Mike Pence officially tallies the vote. However, in all possible scenarios, Trump has no possibility whatsoever of reversing the result. I'm sure he'll never accept that he was resoundingly smashed at the polls. It must be peaceful, living in a constant state of denial.

PA, GA, MI, WI, AZ, NM, NV had GOP electors cast votes for Trump. There seems to be always a little option kept for Trump to keep going.

And I thought he lived in the state of Florida, where he cast a mail-in ballot.

People believing Trump is a good guy looking out for their interests, people believing he wants what is best for America, people believing his lies about voter fraud, people just basically rationalizing all of the awful things he is, what that he represents, and that he has done.
The extent people will go to justify all of this worries me more than anything else, because it paves the way for so many awful things in future such as a dramatic erosion of democracy and civil liberties, the installation of dictators and political puppets, a further increase in corporate interests at the expense of ordinary people. Basically, it is a willing enablement of all of the things that actually make life worse for the 'everyday' people engaging in these delusions, believing the lies that are fed to them and actively supporting Trumpian behaviour. It's a grotesque form of self-harm.
These last few weeks of the Trump presidency feel like months.

Is this what Stephen Miller was talking about yesterday? That they have their own electors off voting somewhere?

The GOP held its own laughable "alternative Electoral College" vote which carries as much weight as Giuliani's risible "hearings" on electoral fraud, held in a hotel ballroom.
There were no faithless electors this year, so indeed, Biden beat Trump's 2016 Electoral College vote. Another puncture in Trump's ego.

Just calling people names and not understanding what went wrong and what it still wrong, marginalizes > 70 million Americans which is certainly the best way to make this a repeat occurrence.

... What’s the difference between a Giuliana press conference and a tight pair of jeans? No ballroom.
