Trump may wither, slowly or loudly, but his children may line up for 2024.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Took too long..
Quote:
GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for the first time acknowledged Joe Biden's victory and referred to him as President-elect, six weeks after Election Day and amid President Donald Trump's continued refusal to accept defeat.

"I also want to congratulate the vice president-elect, our colleague from California, Senator Harris," he said. "Beyond our differences, all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time."

Of course, Biden might want a damaged and deeply non-credible Trump as his opponent in 2024. Maybe better not to land a killer blow.

TBH its probably best for US unity for him not to face criminal charges, but rather to let him slowly wither on the vine.
The dilemma for Trump's future ambitions is that the more he convinces Republican voters the election was rigged then the more they are discouraged from voting which is counterproductive for him.

TBF many Republican voters are not stupid enough to listen to him. They just vote Republican every year so held their nose and voted for him. A bit like how some decent Labour folk voted for Jeremy Corbyn in the UK.

In my view there are three main brackets of GOP voters:

- value voters (abortion, gays, guns, "stay the f--- out of my life")
- wallet voters (wealthy people with tax issues)
- the "forgotten men and women" (low to mid income in fear)

The third is the group in play that has brought Trump into the White House and which Biden now in parts gained back. Group 1 and 2 are never going to change (i.e. might stay home instead of voting for the other party).

I'm amused how one of the partners in the law firm I used to work for, who lists his pronouns in his signature doesn't realise that his "likes" on linkedin for pro-Trump posts are visible to all his contacts.

I imagine he is solidly in the second group. Or just in the first and a total hypocrite.

Common pronouns include I, me, mine, she, he, it, we, and us.

All four of those are values I view positively, thus neither the Dems nor the Repubs reflect my views correctly.

And the first three are included in the 4th, so redundant.

That's HvF's point -- the law partner is one of those woke folk who love to tell people how to address them. Presumably (or maybe not?) he has specified "he, him, his". On Twitter you'll find plenty of people who self-identify as asexual, intersex, the opposite sex, whatever... many of these demand to be referred to as "they, them, their".

If you're positive on all four, I guess you lean slightly Democrat, as they're not 100% anti-gun. So you'd get 2.5 out of 4 with them and just 2/4 with the Republicans.

I always knew you were a big ol' softie, open-minded, frappuccino-sippin' leftie, Tom. ❤

Algorythms mostly. And Fox.

I am certainly not free from the risk of let's call it pre-defined choice of sources, but my medication is (1) no Facebook, (2) I regularly try to read news from "the other side".

Prosecutor: Former cop held gun to man's head claiming he had 750K fake ballots

Former officer Mark Aguirre was reportedly convinced that a local repairman was behind a massive imaginary election fraud scheme, according to a report from The Associated Press.

Aguirre allegedly rammed his vehicle into the unnamed man's truck, forcing him off the road, before holding him at gunpoint until police showed up and took Aguirre into custody.

He reportedly told investigators he believed the man was behind a massive ballot-harvesting scheme, and that they would find thousands of illegal ballots in the man's truck; a search of the vehicle revealed only tools and various repair equipment.

TBH the events were on Oct 19th. I hope craziness has descended to normal and funny levels by now.

Actually, the Monty Python Dead Parrot Sketch first aired on 7 December 1969

Meanwhile, about time they finally acted
Quote:
Attorneys for Dominion Voting Systems sent a letter to Sidney Powell, a one-time member of President Trump’s legal team, demanding she retract her claims that the voting machine company helped rig the 2020 election.

The letter, from the Alexandria, Va.-based law firm Clare Locke, warns Powell that she will expose both herself and the Trump campaign to “substantial legal risk for defamation” if she refuses to publicly recant the many unsubstantiated claims she has made about the company.
I hope they get many millions from the Trump campaign.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Yet another lawsuit from the Trump cult crashes and burns
Quote:
A federal judge on Thursday rejected a Republican lawsuit seeking to change Georgia's absentee voting procedures ahead of two Senate runoff elections next month, according to media reports.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that U.S. District Court Judge J. Randal Hall dismissed the lawsuit from the 12th Congressional District Republican Committee during a hearing on Thursday.
When will these idiots grasp that creating lawsuits that are too late and lack any evidence achieves nothing?

After legal threat, Fox airs news package debunking election fraud claims made by its own hosts

If President Trump tunes into Fox News this weekend, he may see something unexpected: a point-by-point fact-check to wild election fraud claims made by some of his favorite hosts on the network.

After voting technology company Smartmatic sent Fox News a blistering legal threat that accused the network of participating in a "disinformation campaign" against it, the network has started airing a remarkable news package debunking claims its own hosts and guests have propagated.

The package aired for the first time Friday night on Lou Dobbs' show. Fox News said the same package would air Saturday night on Jeanine Pirro's program as well as Sunday morning on Maria Bartiromo's show. All three hosts, who use their platforms to air pro-Trump propaganda, are close with the President.

The stunning news package featured an interview with voting technology expert Eddie Perez, who poured cold water on a series of conspiracy theories that have been amplified and promoted on the shows of Dobbs, Pirro, and Bartiromo.
No doubts driven by fears of megabucks compensation claims
