Why are you intent on making it personal? Sounds like you were calling me a moron. You understood the point i was making, i presume, then sought to try and belittle.
Have you tried reading the point before seeing who made it? Someone suggested that...

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | I don't agree with your statements, which although partly true are misleading. Poverty is closely correlated to unemployment, which has been on a steep downward slope for over 10 years.
This is NOT Trump, this is a long trend.
Regarding inequality, it depends on how you measure it. Economically this is probably not the case. Socially speaking, Obama issued laws to protect borrowers of payday loans, which Trump has . Trump has also increased inequality by blocking transgender people from federally funded single-sex or sex-segregated homeless shelters (in May 2019), by blocking access to birth control, limiting SNAP food stamps (the Republicans aim at slashing nearly 680'000 people off the SNAP program), not to mention the healthcare fiasco. I really think Trump if anything has increased inequality. | | | | | The stats are correct and can be checked (I took them almost word for word from yesterday's newspaper, a reputable broadsheet). Whilst I agree that the cause of the economic boom is debatable (and I do believe a decent proportion of it is thanks to the President's economic policy), to do so is to miss the point.
The point is why so he resonated with so many American's who felt forgotten? A certain proportion of that is because their lives demonstrably improved under him, certainly in an economic sense. Whether that was down to Donald Trump or not doesn't really matter.

The guy who broke into Nancy Pelosi's office has been arrested and charged with three federal counts. Apparently, he was also carrying a gun at the time. "Richard Barnett, the man who allegedly broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office, posed for pictures and stole mail from her desk, was arrested Friday morning in Little Rock, Arkansas, and has been charged with three federal counts.
He was charged with entering a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and stealing public property.
Alberts was one of the protesters who stormed the Capitol and was "slow in responding to orders to leave the premises," according to a complaint unsealed in US District Court in Washington, D.C. That is when the Capitol Police officer who wrote the indictment said he noticed Alberts had a handgun on his hip and was wearing a bulletproof vest and a backpack. Alberts tried to flee when officers noticed his weapon, but officers detained him quickly, according to the complaint." https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/man-...ve_twopack_hed | This user would like to thank Pancakes for this useful post: | |

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | This is IMHO the wrong move. Pelosi and the Blue leadership is driven by a personal agenda - to prove they can impeach him as they already failed once. This is the wrong thing to do from the Dem perspective, but also the wrong thing for the US. I firmly believe that turning Trump into a martyr will give more fuel and more energy for his sycophantic fans.
Moreover, Mitch McConnell ain't stupid. Allowing this to pass will "prove" his was wrong before and the Republicans know that they will have very tough 4 years to go, helping the Dems now is stupid from their perspective.
Let him fall down, foaming and fuming, make it as public as possible and then, sometime in spring drag him into the deepest tax audit ever and then jail him before year end. | | | | | Pelosi & co. did not fail previously; they did successfully impeach Trump. And there's no doubt whatsoever that they could do it again now, this time with not insubstantial Republican support.
Having corrected that misconception, I don't disagree with anything else in your post.

It's just that post-Obama the Democrats lost their way and he capitalised.
He beat Hillary who was toxic to begin with, and then ran the worlds worst campaign where she campaigned in the wrong states and with a ludicrous woke message (vote for me to shatter the glass ceiling!). Despite this his own ratings stunk. Lots of people who voted for him didn't think he was qualified, just didn't want Hillary.
Biden wasn't exactly a strong candidate and would lose to an even vaguely decent Republican but kept it simple, ran an ok campaign where he basically just acted like a reasonable adult and kept his mouth shut and that was enough.
Trump Reminds me of Jeremy Corbyn, another Nutjob who attracted a small but extremely loud extremist following and who was made to look vaguely electable by a weak opponent (Theresa May) and then was pulverised when someone half decent faced him.
Biden is the luckiest person alive. He faced a nutter in the primaries, a nutter in the election, and now it looks all but certain he'll face a tribute act nutter if he makes it to 2024 in decent health and wants a second term. Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski would beat him very comfortably - but they'll run Ted Cruz or Donald Trump Jr or someone else barking mad.

It will likely (and I do hope she has a good 4 years now) be Kamala, the first female president.

A lot is being made of Trump not attending the inauguration. But, does anyone know, did he get an invitation?
Ironically if the process worked the way the original framers intended none of this would have happened. Without the 12th Amendment Hillary would have been his VP, not Pence. And Trump would now be Vice President-elect.

It's just that post-Obama the Democrats lost their way and he capitalised. | | | | | Democrats and Obama's problems in my view started with the bank bailout of 2009 and the misunderstood healthcare reform with the ACA. This enabled the Tea Party movement which again made it possible for an anti-establishment campaign to run and win. Trump was the vessel, but it could as well have been Palin or Glenn Beck.
And yes, Hillary Clinton was an atrocious candidate. | Quote: | | | | | Biden is the luckiest person alive. Like all candidates need. What you see in Collins or Murkowski is beyond me.

Trump is probably beginning to experience withdrawal symptoms due to being banned by Twitter. He'll probably start his own reality television show on youtube, where he can collect "thumbs up." I'm not sure how long he can go without seeking attention and validation from his cult following.
