She is probably talking about the Czech Republic as always.
For many of the Visegrad countries, in my view it is not so much the "pirate" types who are problematic in those parliaments ...

Biden wasn't exactly a strong candidate and would lose to an even vaguely decent Republican but kept it simple, ran an ok campaign where he basically just acted like a reasonable adult and kept his mouth shut and that was enough...
Biden is the luckiest person alive... | | | | | Despite his flaws/failures, Trump resonated with some 74 million people. That's not a small number to completely dismiss as a fascistic fringe.
Agree, Biden was in the right place at the right time. I recall one media outlet (BBC?) that said they'd never seen a candidate campaign so little and be so successful.
Sharing more from my social media feed from Trump's loyal followers: | Quote: | | | | Dear President Trump,
I want to take a minute to say thank you. Regardless of the outcome of this election, you deserve my gratitude. Thank you for not plunging the US into another war. Thank you for walking through HELL and back for the American people. Thank you for doing it for free. Thank you for working through the night while my family was tucked safely in bed. Thank you for standing strong and staring adversity in the face. Thank you for keeping GOD in the country I love. Thank you for not backing down when the weight of the world was against you. Thank you for putting your family in the line of fire when you didn’t have to. Thank you for standing up for women. Thank you for not being a politician. Thank you for being raw and even sometimes too much. Thank you for standing up for the unborn. Thank you for caring about the little guy. Thank you for working harder than any president in my lifetime, ever has. Thank you for your service to this country. You were part of some of the greatest days of my life. Thank you. Win or lose I am a fan. You have fulfilled every promise you have made to me and for that I am thankful. May GOD always bless you and your family.
From a grateful nation,
Thank you! ❤️🇺🇸💙

I like the part with "Thank you for standing up for women.".... Now, if by women they meant the super-duper model daughter wannabe politician someday - Ivanka.....I agree.
...and the "doing it for free." Trump might not be a politician (cough cough) but a businessman he is.
Anyways, I suspect there are more reasonable Trump supporters too (out there) but we don't get to listen to them too much. Biden will have to. IMHO.

He beat Hillary who was toxic to begin with, and then ran the worlds worst campaign where she campaigned in the wrong states and with a ludicrous woke message (vote for me to shatter the glass ceiling!). Despite this his own ratings stunk. Lots of people who voted for him didn't think he was qualified, just didn't want Hillary.
...
Biden is the luckiest person alive. He faced a nutter in the primaries, a nutter in the election, and now it looks all but certain he'll face a tribute act nutter if he makes it to 2024 in decent health and wants a second term. Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski would beat him very comfortably - but they'll run Ted Cruz or Donald Trump Jr or someone else barking mad. | | | | | While i agree largely with what you say here, there isn't anything "woke" about the glass ceiling. It's basic equality.
I also think May suffered from a lack of charisma and from being left out in the cold by her peers. It'll probably garner groans but it's the truth nonetheless: their sex was a factor too.

Sharing more from my social media feed from Trump's loyal followers: | | | | | I do not see how "we can take the pandemic out of the equation", that is an extreme example of whitewashing Trump's failures.
If he had addressed the pandemic vigorously, always worn a mask, promoted social distancing, and not continuously played down the extremely serious nature of the disease then the situation today would be much better.
You only have to look at the pictures of the Capitol insurrection to see his keenest supporters avoid masks and social distancing.
I am sure his pandemic failure was a significant factor for the 81 million who voted for Biden.
You are correct about him appointing many conservative judges. But luckily for the rest of us, these judges demonstrate they administer the law just like liberal-leaning judges.

I'm not whitewashing anything and I agree the USA would be in a very different place had Trump behaved differently regarding the pandemic. I'm only talking about Trump supporters and their continued support for him.

A number of people who supported Trump before the pandemic did benefit economically in the past 4 years, whether due to Trump's actions/policies or not. So they credit him. Many were also hit economically by the pandemic, but they blame the pandemic itself - not Trump's poor handling of it - for their losses.
for Trump supporters, Trump can do no wrong.

The best thing to do is just ignore Trump at present. | | | | | For regular folk that makes sense. But Trump fans aren't what I'd call regular. They don't ignore Trump. They practically worship him and wait for his coded instructions (stand back and stand by). I disagree it's only posturing.
With respect to Wednesday's event, mob mentality is an interesting phenomenon. Otherwise "normal" people get swept up in the moment and can make very poor choices. Clearly some of the people that wound up in the Capitol didn't plan to be there at first. They got whipped into a frenzy, moving along with a crowd, and then decided being part of a revolution sounded like a stellar idea. Others planned on violence from the start.
I'm sure at least some of those posting about shooting Pence are determined to try.
