| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | I've worried about the same thing -- that maybe Dems are becoming a bit too overly confident. And I can only hope that that won't once again translate into many of them feeling that it's not important to vote, thinking that they "have it in the bag." But hopefully what happened in 2016 was a lesson in that regard.
I can understand the Dems' enthusiasm, though. When I see Biden and Harris speak now, I really do feel a sense of hope for the country -- that something might finally change for the good -- and it's been quite a few years since I've felt that for the US. I found it interesting that Biden was comparing this election to good versus evil and dark versus light, because that really is what it feels like to me. Hopefully the light will prevail this time around. | | | | | What do you expect in the week of the convention? They need to demonstrate confidence. Time will tell, now they have a lot of work to do, ensuring people can vote and encouraging them to vote.

He's not bald, he just has very thin hair and he doesn't go out of his way to hide the fact.

Hmmmm ..... will he do that after every speech? | | | | | Yes curley, what an intelligent question you ask. Clearly he will do that after every speech and that can be considered the defacto takeaway from the video.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | Is it just me, or do the Democrats at the top levels seem to be getting a bit overly confident again? This feels eerily like this time of year in 2016, where they simply couldn't conceive how anyone would vote for Trump. | | | | | That's probably because their campaign is still running on the 2016 platform: don't vote for Trump.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | What got Trump elected was a lot of fancy promises that he never kept.- We’re going to have a healthcare that is far less expensive and far better
- The president promised during his campaign to ‘build the next generation of roads, bridges, railways, tunnels, seaports and airports that our country deserves
- Bring back manufacturing jobs
- Build a wall and have Mexico pay for it.
- Trump insisted that he would be able to get rid of the nation’s more than $19 trillion national debt ‘over a period of eight years.’”

Let’s try again.
*We’re going to have better healthcare. This means REMOVING Obamacare which he did. Removing Obamacare brings back capitalism and keeps the private healthcare system alive , upping competition and lowering prices while allowing Americans to keep their FREEDOM to choose. When the government is involved in healthcare the quality of care goes down the drain and patients aren’t allowed to keep their doctors.
*These things are not done over night especially not with the corona virus taking it’s toll on so many peoples’ lives and entire economies. He will get this going in his second term.
*Manufacturing is back baby!! Companies like Ford are bringing their manufacturing plants and other business back to the United States. Apple had just announced it’s planning to invest 350 billion in the US and hire another 20 thousand workers.

| | Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got? | Quote: | | | | | Biden is a corrupt scumbag who represents a change back to the same old same old globalist politics that got Trump elected in the first place. | | | | | A sweeping statement with no factual basis. This seems to be a common theme in your posting, whether on American politics or medical issues.
If Biden is corrupt, he's really not very good at it. He had a 44-year career in public service and was consistently among the poorest of the US Senators (bottom 10%), for most of the time recording net negative wealth. He never owned a single share, in order to remain immune from influence.
Since leaving the vice presidency, Biden and his wife earned more than $15 million in 2017 and 2018 from book deals and speaking engagements—nothing corrupt in that.
Are you sure you're not thinking of Trump? There is plenty of documented evidence to prove that he is corrupt, and while scumbaggery cannot be proven, most Americans probably see Trump as the poster boy of scumbags.
As for globalism, it's more than ironic that Americans strive to be seen as "the greatest country on Earth", "the leader of the free world", etc., and that Trump wants advantageous (for the USA) trade terms with every other nation (at whatever cost to others), and tries to hobble rivals such as China that threaten to take the place of the US on the world stage, but recoils from labels such as "globalist". But I grant you that Trump does have almost no true understanding of the world outside the borders of his own country (indeed, outside the industry from which he extorted most of his money).

Free market, for profit health care in the US is mostly abysmal. | Quote: | | | | As for globalism, it's more than ironic that Americans strive to be seen as "the greatest country on Earth", "the leader of the free world", etc., and that Trump wants advantageous (for the USA) trade terms with every other nation (at whatever cost to others), and tries to hobble rivals such as China that threaten to take the place of the US on the world stage, but recoils from labels such as "globalist". This. Globalism is fine as long as the US gets what it wants.

Running a country and running a business are two very different things; and let's face it, he wasn't very good at running his businesses either. Trump was inept when he took office, and he still is; and his ineptitude as President of the United States speaks for itself. He is nothing but 'smoke and mirrors.'
