. The fact that he still does get stuff done imho comes from the definition of potus, I wouldn't credit it to him being a genius statesman. But he never tried to fake that he wants to be liked. All his opponents do. Which I think might be the ultimate thing to tank Biden's chance. People don't care for politicians who solicit pity.

As per who's more evil between Hillary and Trump - she blew it by being sanctimonious. You can be a clumsy oaf, people will forgive you.

You expect people to distance themselves but that works here, in fact it is the mode of operation here.
Did he really get stuff done? Sustainably? I didn't follow closely, just reading some headlines and martons post here. I've got the impression that, in the relevant topics, he only managed to implement stuff via executive order. Doesn't speak for a succesful dealmaker.

Being liked or admired is the only thing trump cares about, that has become pretty clear over the last years. If I were a US citizen I would prefer someone who at the very least tries to make it look like (by actions) he cares about me. Yeah, thats how low we can set the bar for trump and he still fails.

He's soft on illegal immigration.
Ok, Trump is at least acting being though on immigration. If it weren't for those damn lawyers and judges, right? He would have some real impact, other than building a useless wall.

Other aspects?

Hmmmm..... people don‘t care for politicians who solicit pity, but they will forgive clumsiness? Is that really different?
Of course, especially if one doesn't consider him clumsy but uncompromising.

I find Biden to be more empathetic..
I understand but think that you do not represent US voters. I do not think empathy would be expected from a president by general public. Especially in issues that compromised US's sovereignty. Potus needs a plan. Peacetalking needs empathy. If potus has good peacetalkers then he can have a good plan there I agree. But people right now expect empathy where they simmultaneously assign opposing role.

Against lobbyists? Would Hillary have a chance to take a different route? I doubt it..Nor would Biden. Nor would he be capable to get any implementation through, I fear.

Would anyone ever vote for Biden if he wasn't running against DT?

Thought not.

Lobbyists? He had a republican majority in both houses for two years..... If he can't even get his own party behind him its really bad. Especially in the US where party loyalty is that important.

Obama just had one house when he passed his obamacare (and other stuff).

Really? Where a random enterpreneur shortly represents Rs and actually wins potus position?

He peeves off lobbyists on all sides which gains him support and trust of quite a few voters. I think he makes an impression of a clumsy politician but anyone who'd peeve off lobbyists is scoring high with public.

I think he's more strategic than people give him credit for, also because they are busy being outraged. Which is his MO.

Random enterpreneur is a large understatement for trump don't you think?. He was already well known as businessman as well as entertainer. In addition to that, he started his twitter propaganda against democrats well before the primaries even started.

divide et impera does work for a time, it's just sad when its the country you were supposed to govern.
I too thougth it was strategy at the beginning, in the meantime I think it'sjust the only thing he's able to.

We‘ll have to disagree on this. Moreover, I don‘t think there is an average US voter. I do have much in common with white, middle class American women.

People know what he's doing and still go for him as opposed to lobbies or those who'd feed into lobbies.

Whether he is like this because he's limited or because that's what he carefully crafts..he is there. To say accidentally or not - who cares. He will be gone sooner or later yet the situation calling for what he represents will still be there.

This is what seemes futile - assign all that is wrong to Trump is ignoring the fact that he in fact is completely irrelevant. He just happened to be there.

It is important because his role would demand a broader spectrum of methods. "To the hammer, everything seems to be a nail" and stuff like that...
I'm not sure if the US can withstand another 4 years of incompetent leadership. It's not even importatn which agenda is implemented, just some basic human values and behaviours from the "leader of the free world". Leading by example...

I'm not assigning everyting every wrongdoing to Trump. Trump just faciliated and brought up the many conflicts within the US "community"

So I’m supposed to be embarrassed? As if. Although I really am more middle class (in the US sense) than affluent.

Trump is the distraction. An equally important issue is the system and the Lack of governance from the House and Senate.

I see what you did there

The big question will be what happens next once the vote is done and dusted. Clear, the Oompah Loompa is staying on Twitter, will he barricade himself in The Oval?

The question stands whether he wins or loses. I think he ought to lose but then he ought to not have won. He's stripped all credibility from the US - but that'll soon be forgotten in January 2020 (or 2024).
