That is misinformation though, he did not suggest drinking disinfectant. He was mentioning light acting as a disinfectant and an experimental therapy where they put UV light tubes into the lungs. So I guess you meant to say, the majority of the time when Trump is criticised, it's disinfo.

It's just remarkable the depths to which the media have sunk in order to try and attack Donald Trump. It's almost as if he came up with the slogan "Fake News" and the media have done their damnedest to fit that role!

The latest example is the story printed in the Atlantic regarding alleged comments the President is said to have made about veterans and war dead. The sources were "four unnamed people close to the President" which were then "independently corroborated" by also unnamed persons. How does this stuff get printed?! What happened to proper journalism?

From your link Trump said
Quote:
And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right?"

And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside .........
So Trump wanted to bring both light and/or disinfectant inside people.

So true he did not suggest drinking disinfectant, he suggested injecting it. There is no way you can claim he wanted to inject light.

The 'drink bleach' and 'fine people' both came from doctored videos released on pro-Democrat sites. In fact Biden mentioned the 'fine people' lie in his biggest speech, the acceptance of his nomination.
Since you like Politifact you will be happy to know they confirm Trump's "fine people" comment here.

So 'fine people' did not come from a doctored video released on pro-Democrat sites.

He was only ever talking about light though, light as a disinfectant, nowhere in that quote is he talking about bleach.

It would be correct to say 'injecting a tube into the lungs'. 'Injecting' doesn't imply liquid, although it is a poor use of words. So at most you can say is he wasn't very clear in his use of words. But clearly from the conversation he is talking about light only. He says "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute..." then finishes with "So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute." so clearly he's talking about light as a disinfectant.

He's saying there were fine people on both sides of the debate, which is actually correct. It was not only Neo-Nazi that protested the taking down of the statue, there were random neighbours that were against it, including Jewish people! Of course they were not involved in the violence, but Trump was merely trying not to lump everyone on one side as a Nazi because clearly that's a terrible insult to a random neighbour.

It is also worth mentioning that when he made the speech, not this interview, he actually said: "...and I am not talking about the Neo-Nazis, the white supremacists, they should be condemned totally."

So there you go.

Here I often disagree with some people on this forum.

In my opinion, opinions can't be wrong.

They are what they are, they'll probably result in me not wanting to talk to you anymore but it's "ok" that you think that way.
But man, you are really testing me here

At the time the press were having a go at these random neighbours and conservationsits and history buffs, saying you shouldn't be in the same march as neo-nazis, and if you're not condemning them, then you're condoning them.

But then when BLM failed to condemn the lootings, and failed to stay away from marches that involved looting, the press didn't hold them to those same standards.

Were there "fine people" on BLM marches? Would there be an outrage if somebody said so?

I think so, it would be fair to say there were fine people at BLM marches. A lot of them were just people that didn't like the perceived police brutality. There were celebrities etc., not all looters.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

So, now that we all agree: a quick recap for those who need a tl;dr summary:

Yes, Trump did suggest that people inject disinfectant to control the coronavirus;

Yes, Trump did say that there were "very fine people on both sides" of clashes between white supremacist-dominated groups and protesting citizens.

As both comments were captured by TV cameras, there is no doubt that Trump made them, and there has been no need for his detractors to edit or twist them.

By the way, FOX was one of the broadcasters that repeated and corroborated Trump's "losers and suckers" references to fallen American soldiers.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Trump's campaign cash advantage claimed to be evaporating.

Quote:
The New York Times published a review on Monday detailing how the Trump campaign has already spent more than $800 million of the $1.1 billion it raised in coordination with the Republican National Committee from the beginning of 2019 through July.

Biden, meanwhile, has seen his fundraising soar in the final weeks of the campaign.
August, the former vice president and the Democratic National Committee raked in a record $365 million in contributions — doubling Trump’s $165 million record haul from July and also surpassing the $193 million raised by Barack Obama in September 2008.

Trump has yet to report his August fundraising numbers, rumoured to be poor
Source

This seems to have provoked Trump to turn to tweet;
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

My Campaign spent a lot of money up front in order to compensate for the false reporting and Fake News concerning our handling of the China Virus.
Now they see the GREAT job we have done, and we have 3 times more than we had 4 years ago - & are up in polls.
Lots of $’s & ENERGY!

He exploits people's ignorance, irrational hatred and quickness to generalize. To say that all protestors are violent or "thugs" is as ridiculous as saying that all cops are racist.
