My cousin, LEO for the SoC, just told me they are not allowed to talk (fearing it may start a civil war) about the fact that they have arrested several antifa and blm protesters for starting some of the wildfires all along the I5 corridor. I hope these terrorists get life in prison.
Good luck with your gender identity in prison.

I got Trump as the clear winner, if I was a betting man.
You should really try to get a grip on reality and stop believing fake news simply because it strokes your cognitive bias. Wildfires are extremely common in Oregon and California, and they've been especially bad this year due to the record-high temperatures in the West this summer, coupled with a drought.

"Wildfires are a natural occurrence in Oregon's forests, especially in the state's “dry forests,” where periodic burns actually contribute to overall forest health. Many plants and trees have adapted to wildfires, and some species can't survive without them.

"The summer was capped with a punishing heat wave that settled across the region in August and September and drove temperatures well into triple digits.

It has also been extremely dry in California, Oregon, and Washington this summer, with large sections of each state under “severe drought” conditions and some areas reaching “extreme drought.”

That heat and dryness turned grasses, shrubs, and trees into easy tinder, ready to ignite at the slightest spark."

https://www.vox.com/21431313/califor...-climate-covid

And here is an article about social media posts trying to create and spread the rumor that antifa is responsible for the fires:

Oregon Officials Warn False Antifa Rumors Waste Precious Resources For Fires
https://www.npr.org/2020/09/13/91244...=1600029389164

And just prior to seeing your ridiculous post, I had been watching an excellent new documentary on Netflix titled "A Social Dilemma" that is about social media and the tech industry, the manipulation tactics they use to keep their users engaged and how fake news now travels like a virus.

60% of the forests in California and Oregon are federally owned.
If the Trump administration maintained them properly there would not be these huge fires.

I've read about this from friends of friends on FB. It's like blaming the Jews for the plague.

(By the way, what about the wildfires last year in Canada and California? You can't blame the antifa on that too.)

Yeah, and it's already been all over the news that the big one in CA was started by some idiots using a pyrotechnic device for a "gender-reveal party."

"The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire, blamed a "smoke-generating pyrotechnic device, used during a gender reveal party" for the start of the blaze."

California wildfires: Gender reveal party blamed for fire
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54053811

But who needs facts when we can just try to blame the fires in CA and Oregon on antifa instead?

Up next: Antifa and Black Lives Matter blamed for climate change and Trump's ingrown toenails.

According to this site Source it is 45.8% for California and 52.9% for Oregon. Still significant.

And the irony is that the people that are directly affected by these West Coast fires are disproportionately Trump supporters. I heard that Trump will be tossing rakes to his supporters today in Sacramento.

Some are but the Washington, Oregon and California are generally more democratic, which may explain why Trump is basically ignoring the catastrophe. No new votes to be won there.

Electorally yes but not where the fires are located. The fires are almost all in solid red counties in all 3 states. But true, Trump has nothing to gain in the overall picture there.

Under Trump Texas with it’s 38 ec votes is moving slowly to the left. While it probably won’t go to Biden this year, the Reps will need to focus here and spend money to hold onto those 38 votes.

I bet that fires continue regardless of future administration. It's climate change not politics for the most part. Governor Newsom himself said this is the main reason.

South and west getting bluer, north and east getting redder by Cook PVI.

From the Republicans perspective Maine, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin have come onto the map in a marginal year, while New Mexico, Colorado and (pretty much) Virginia have gone off. Arizona is rapidly going the way of NM and CO. Ohio and Iowa no longer marginal states in a close year.

Florida seems to be gently trending Republican too - Democrats are getting used to losing there now. It's voted for 2 R senators, governor and President. Probably a pale red rather than true purple state atm. There's a pretty decent chance Trump wins FL and still loses this time I think.

As you say TX and potentially GA will be coming into Play.

It all balances out. It always will in a two party system.

Trump, when challenged about how climate change is a big contributor to forest fires:

Official: We have had record temperatures and to fight this issue we need to acknowledge the contributing and growing effect of climate change".
Trump: "It will start getting cooler, you just watch".
Official: "I wish the science agreed with you."
Trump: "Yeah well, I don't think science knows actually".

What more evidence do people need that Trump is unhinged and dangerous to the entire country? Videos like this make me sick to my stomach and the level of delusion required for people to keep telling themselves Trump is a sane and rational human being must be astounding.

The questioner was clearly referring to climate change.

Meanwhile cannot wait until Friday!

The problem is the ad used a stock image of Russian-made fighter jets and weapons, MIG 29 and Kalashnikovs.

Who knew the US military relies on Russians?

I think it's very clear from the context of the discussion and the vocabulary used that the official and Trump are both referring to climate change as a whole, not seasonal change. The official specifically mentioned climate change and the science behind it and Trump responded that he didn't think the scientists knew what they were talking about.

For Trump to misconstrue the discussion as seasonal would require a level of comprehension and intellect in line with what I would expect from an uneducated menial worker. Even George W. Bush (who know appears more intelligent with each passing day) would have immediately known what was being discussed.
