A CBS poll after the debate claims it persuaded some undecided voters not to vote, about sums it up...

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

It's obvious why Trump always interrups Biden when Biden has his 2 minutes. Trumps attention span is around 10 seconds. So how could he wait 2 minutes. By that time he has completely forgotten everything that Biden said!

Did anyone read the 20 Minuten review of the debate? It seems the “US expert” concluded Trump had won 5-4. Those kind of statements scare me as much as a potential reelection of Trump does.

https://www.20min.ch/story/donald-tr...t-896418537749
I think that someone who is pro-Trump and who perceives bullying. lying and denial as being positive traits (and/or who chooses to ignore those traits) will perceive Trump as being a "winner" of the debate.

Personally, I don't think there was a winner of the debate. But what I do think has become even more evident, via Trump's own behavior, is that his entire presidency has been little more than "smoke and mirrors," that he doesn't give a shit about the state of America or Americans in general and how crucial to the future of America it is that he does not get a second term.

Yes, but Fatmanfilms had written the following:

"the American people voted him in.
Democracy."

I corrected him.

Edit: Sorry, I mean Codpeace. Not Fatmanfilms. Sorry if you see this Fatmanfilms.

And it was a democratic process.

No, it isn't a democratic process. Certainly not a direct democracy. The electoral college provides the illusion of democracy.

But perhaps I should have phrased it differently and said that more people voted for Clinton than for Trump, which is fact. And still contradicts what Codpeace had written.

Popular Vote

Clinton: 65,853,514 votes
Trump: 62,984,828 votes

You're right. Sorry about that. I'll go back and edit my post(s). My morning coffee doesn't want to kick in this morning.

As for your second point, I can guarantee you that if the situation was reversed this time and Trump won the popular vote but lost the electoral college vote, he would be throwing a tantrum about it, as would his followers. He is already trying to say that the election is being sabotaged, but of course he'll change his mind on that if he wins.

Just like the majority of British people didn't support Brexit. Something like 35% of the electorate did.

We only know that 35% of the British people did support Brexit that it was sufficient to get the majority.

I think it's the same Brexit majority argument. The vote results is not representative of the whole population. But those who didn't vote will never be counted.

As in the non voting people are still in the majority of the people. So nobody had the majority of the american people voting for them, as so many don't vote.

The American system is broken. But so are most.
