In an alternative universe Mitt Romney is coming to the end of his second term as President and the world is in a much better place

For people who don't want a moron or a senile, watch Kanye's video!

It would be a great parody video but I think it's real

He says the right words...to steal votes from Trump from evangelicals by talking all the faith stuff. But he doesn't seem to really be aware what he's saying. Strange video.

I think he's totally aware of what he's saying, that would be underestimating him. I can't see him winning, it doesn't cover wide enough public. But. He will definitely gain traction for later. He is pacing himself, and it will work, imho. Couple years. One way or another, he's got a foot in the door and will gain political influence. He nailed the timing.

Who's his VP pick? I'm guessing his campaign posters look something like this:

KANYE

He also can't win because maths. The person who wins needs a certain number of Electoral College votes (270). It's mathematically impossible for him to get enough even if he won every state where he's on the ballot.

He could play an interesting spoiler though, depending on which voters opt for him as opposed to Trump or Biden.

Of course, so it's safe investment and marketing now - with the least effort, considering the political climate in the US currently. He is also a forward thinker knowing the racial conflicts aren't about to disappear fast, they might get worse, and faith is a uniting factor. He's clever. Not at all somebody unaware of what he is saying in that video.

I give him a month before he (his people) get super frantic on Twitter. With all this positive faith vibe - Twitter will not be able to control his political campaign.

He has a big hill to climb.
Polls show only 2% of Americans intend to vote for Kanye West as President in 2020.

I doubt he will ever be more than a fringe comedy figure.

I wouldn't be so skeptical. He'll get better reach and focus, hire the proper sharks to create him a better image for later. We aren't talking politics, in the US it translates to business. His message might sell, big time. It is uniting, spiritual and represents community. People want that.

2% in this election could be significant for either Trump or Biden in a few states where he's on the ballot.

At least this ad from Kanye isn't screaming about how awful other candidates are and using scare tactics. It's just a positive message about working together and faith. Aside from coming across as a little odd, I appreciate the positive messaging.

I think he could win in the event that his victory in the states where he stands render Trump and Biden both short of 270. In that Event the electoral college could choose s compromise candidate?

Like they do with DT's campaign? How dares a private company.

I see it's a recurrent complaint in your posts, you say it like it's a bad thing...

The current polls for those states include numbers for 3rd party candidates.

He could win, technically. Note that Kanye (yes ye can! (Except, no, ye can't, not with him) is asking people to "write in Kanye West". So he's hoping for several dozen million people to write him in as their preferred candidate in all those states where he was too disorganised to get on the ballot. And if they do that, he'll have the numbers in the Electoral College.

But... President Kanye. Way less than Buckley's chance of ever happening, now or in the next 1,000 years. He is even more clueless than Trump. The downtime between albums will be over soon, he'll have things to do to keep him occupied. I suggest a cover of Black Dog. He's really good at rock covers.

C'mon, it's a bad joke. I understand a candidate must have some entertainment value for some, but if someone like Kanye is ever going to win....it looks more and more like a dystopia.
