I am going to post this on both threads, but here is a segment of why Greenwald from the Intercept is resigning:
But the brute censorship this week of my article — about the Hunter Biden materials and Joe Biden’s conduct regarding Ukraine and China, as well my critique of the media’s rank-closing attempt, in a deeply unholy union with Silicon Valley and the “intelligence community,” to suppress its revelations — eroded the last justification I could cling to for staying. It meant that not only does this media outlet not provide the editorial freedom to other journalists, as I had so hopefully envisioned seven years ago, but now no longer even provides it to me. In the days heading into a presidential election, I am somehow silenced from expressing any views that random editors in New York find disagreeable, and now somehow have to conform my writing and reporting to cater to their partisan desires and eagerness to elect specific candidates.
And here is the link to his article: https://greenwald.substack.com/p/my-...-the-intercept
WOW - on all levels...

Between the election and all this COVID stuff, I'm not sure how much more my nervous system can handle. | | | | | It will be a miracle if we know the results on the 4th. The w/coast/Hawaii polls don’t close until 5h00 Swiss time. Late postal votes (posted on time, but delivered late) might not be counted foranother week.
The electoral collage doesn’t vote until 14 December but still it’s not over even then.
On January 6th the Senate and House of Representatives assemble at 1:00 p.m. in a joint session at the Capitol, in the House chamber, to count the electoral votes and declare the results (3 U.S.C. §15). The Vice President presides as President of the Senate. The Vice President opens the certificates and presents them to four tellers, two from each chamber. The tellers read and make a list of the returns. When the votes have been ascertained and counted, the tellers transmit them to the Vice President. If one of the tickets has received a majority of 270 or more electoral votes, the Vice President announces the results, which “shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons, if any, elected President and Vice President.” https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/IF/IF11641
Another 68 days from today.

It is and always has been (since its admission to the USA) one of the bluest states in the nation.

Contrary to Donny, the White House coronavirus taskforce is warning of a persistent and broad spread of Covid-19 in the western half of the United States and its members urged aggressive mitigation measures.
“We are on a very difficult trajectory. We’re going in the wrong direction,” said Dr Anthony Fauci, the lead public health official on the taskforce and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Yesterday over 90,000 new cases and over 1,000 deaths. Every few days more deaths than 9/11, more COVID deaths than the last five years total flu deaths and people still vote for Donny.

This is not a great trend for Biden, particularly as this is a state that will report results early and might give Trump an opportunity to declare himself re-elected while many states will still be counting for days. | | | | | Exciting isn't it | The following 2 users would like to thank marton for this useful post:

Texas is beginning to look interesting (or perhaps even more interesting).
The BBC is reporting that the advance polls have already exceeded the total cast in 2016 for the state. This despite a court ruling limiting drop off boxes to one per county.

It's all beginning to look quite exciting. FiveThirtyEight has Trump's chances of winning the presidency dropping ever lower -- today he is down to 10%, Biden at 89%. They still have Texas in Trump's corner with 50.6% of the vote vs 48.5%, but almost all of the tipping point states (see snake chart below) at least marginally for Biden. State..Chances of winning
MI .......Biden 96% Trump 4%
WI .......Biden 94% Trump 6%
MN ......Biden 93% Trump 7%
NV .......Biden 90% Trump 10%
PA .......Biden 85% Trump 15%
AZ .......Biden 69% Trump 31%
FL ........Biden 66% Trump 34%
NC .......Biden 65% Trump 35%
GA .......Biden 58% Trump 42%
OH .......Biden 45% Trump 55%
IA ........Biden 46% Trump 54%
TX .......Biden 34% Trump 66%
To put it simply, to win the presidency, Biden needs to win all the states in his section of the snake, from Washington DC and Vermont at the end up to and including the state that takes him over the Electoral College (EC) line. Currently, that's Pennsylvania. His chances of winning in each state are assessed as greatest at the end of the snake (>99% in DC and Vermont) and diminishing as he gets further along it, until the odds are in Trump's favour (around Ohio). If he loses any of the states up to and including Pennsylvania, he has to win others with at least as many EC votes further up the snake, where his chances of winning are assessed as lower. And Trump has to do the same for his part of the snake, starting with the near-certainty of victory in Nebraska and Wyoming (where his chances of winning are also >99%).
The big fillip for Biden is that the swing state that of late has traditionally determined the presidency -- Florida -- is well over the victory line for him; he may not need to win it to win the whole election, and he almost certainly doesn't need Texas. All eyes at the moment are on Pennsylvania.

Let us hope Florida goes blue early in election night, some Rust Belt state as well and ideally it looks tight in TX. PA is the biggest swing state where delays are expected. CA and NY will count until December, so probably Fat Donny will argue their votes should not count. | The following 2 users would like to thank komsomolez for this useful post:

Allegedly Bloomberg is throwing money at TX and OH because they think the other swing states are safe and they want to crush Trump completely. Fingers crossed.

It is the inefficient vote counting, the uncertainty if/when there will be a final result and the predictable Trump going nuclear that makes this a nail-biter.

You seem to feverishly read and believe a lot of BS and then spend a lot of time and energy repeating it. | | | | | I don't exactly how to respond here Chuff except to say...You need to read more and vary your sourcing content. It appears that any publication which runs counter to your view of Saint Biden - you won't read! PS..in my view, Trump is equally horrible. Both are lousy candidates for president in my view. And I chose NOT to Vote because that was my statement re: how poor both are. We had zero choice in this election; not good! PS.. I am in a "swing" state PA...and I still chose not to vote for either.
"The Intercept" was co founded by Greenwald back in the Edward Snowden days to counter disinformation about Snowden by governments and press. It was established by three journalists who wanted to question not only governments but media bias as well.
The irony is, when Greenwald tried to publish an article about Hunter Biden and the laptop and Biden, he was stymied by current editors. They refused to publish his article despite his due diligence as it did not run analogous to their views.
Do you see a problem here?? Censorship anyone? Why would this guy ever resign from a publication he started for journalistic freedom?
He, Matt Taibibi and other journalists are beyond frustrated that they are being censored by their own companies/publications. That is why substack exists. It does not censor.
So enlighten me, how I am "alt right" as I read reports by liberal writers like Taibibi and Greenwald - just because it doesn't support your "Biden is amazing/Trump is an anathema" bias?
They are both flawed and lousy candidates as President. Whoever wins, it will not bode well for the US...
