Deutsche Bank seeking to offload three Trump loans.

Deutsche Bank is aiming to end any financial ties to President Trump after the United States elections due to negative attention the bank has received as a result of the relationship.

Three senior bank officials with direct knowledge of the situation told Reuters that while the German multinational investment bank has been reevaluating its financial relationship with Trump for years, recent congressional and other investigations that have pulled the bank into Trump’s affairs and alleged Russia connections have given new urgency to concerns from bank officials.

One senior executive reportedly told Reuters that the new attention is seen by the bank as “serious collateral damage” from the relationship, making it an unwelcome distraction for the bank,

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

There seem to be a lot of nerves out there today! Relax, Joe Biden is going to win, just look at it dispassionately and the polls almost certainly can’t be that far off a second time. This assessment may come back to bite me but if Mr Biden doesn’t win after the endorsement from much of the main stream media, big tech and dare I say it, the deep state, then he probably doesn’t deserve to!

From what i have read, yes. My OH says the thing which may kill the stock market is a Trump victory and a Democratic senate or a Biden win with Republican Senate. My OH's job is in economic analysis.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

There is this 2016 trauma. But all the facts I see point to a massive win for Biden plus the Senate flipping.

If the Proud Boys storm the Capitol tomorrow, Wall Street might be less impressed.

Say what you want about 2020 - but it is an interesting year.

Predicting the stock market performance based on macro-events (in anything but the very short term) like this is a fools game. Has he/she looked at the history:

"Data compiled by LPL Financial shows that beginning in 1950, the average annual stock return was 17.2% under a split Congress, 13.4% when Republicans held both chambers, and 10.7% when Democrats had control."

"Of all the possible combinations, stocks appear to perform best when a Democrat is in the White House and the Congress is split."

We have had the inevitable pre-election wobble, it might last until a day or two after the results, then we will see a bit of a rise. At least, that's what normally happens. I think both parties are addicted to stimulus now and that'll make all the difference in the medium term.

I'm up over 50% YTD - the idea of that happening in a year of a global pandemic killing hundreds of thousands of americans would have been unthinkable at the start of january.

I dunno. All the states Trump needs are within 5 points. The most difficult for him, PA had a poll released showing Trump at +1 today. Biden's still favourite by a decent stretch - but a massive 2008 style win I don't think is assured at all.

Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

Interesting. (From the BBC)
Quote:
A federal judge has ordered the United States Postal Service (USPS) to check its processing facilities for any undelivered ballots by 15:00 EST (20:00 GMT) on election day.

District Judge Emmet Sullivan ordered searches in a number of USPS districts, including areas in key battleground states, such as Central Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, South Florida and Arizona.

Rules surrounding postal voting vary by state, but many require that all mailed ballots be received by the end of election day.

The decision was first reported by Reuters news agency.

Many states have allowed more people to vote by post during this election due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Throughout the campaign, however, President Donald Trump has repeated claims that postal voting leads to widespread fraud, even though there is no evidence for this.

Whatever you say about Trump he’s not even the worst US President of the C21. That award goes to Dubya and his neocon murderers.

More or less: everything in practice being ran by civil servants and/or lobbyists who allegedly have a particular world view that they'll do anything to promote even if it runs contrary to democratic elections.

In the uk it's not particularly true for national issues. There are occasions where the civil service isn't so cooperative with government (particularly new governments) - however this is understandable as their career to date has basically being implementing the outgoing government's policies.

However, most local councils are basically officer led as councillors are too old and/or stupid and/or lazy and/or mad to understand the issues involved with running budgets running into the tens or hundreds of million. In this case, it doesn't really matter who you vote for, but that's probably no bad thing.

To me...deep state means that we need to impose term limits on Congress and Senate. For lack of better terms, the "deep state" refers to long term senators and Congressmen, who essentially sell out to special interest/lobbying groups and manage to amass fortunes in doing so. This applies to Republicans and Democrats as they are both equally responsible/corrupt.

The "Deep State" also refers to special intelligence (read CIA and FBI here) which have their own rules and whom they prefer/want in power.

That is my synopsis...
