Re: Trump or Biden .Who you got?

That’s the real issue this time,” he said. “Beating Nixon. It’s hard to even guess how much damage those bastards will do if they get in for another four years.”

The argument was familiar, I had even made it myself, here and there, but I was beginning to sense something very depressing about it. How many more of these goddamn elections are we going to have to write off as lame, but “regrettably necessary” holding actions? And how many more of these stinking double-downer sideshows will we have to go through before we can get ourselves straight enough to put together some kind of national election that will give me and the at least 20 million people I tend to agree with a chance to vote for something, instead of always being faced with that old familiar choice between the lesser of two evils?

Now with another one of these big bogus showdowns looming down on us, I can already pick up the stench of another bummer. I understand, along with a lot of other people, that the big thing this year is Beating Nixon. But that was also the big thing, as I recall, twelve years ago in 1960 – and as far as I can tell, we’ve gone from bad to worse to rotten since then, and the outlook is for more of the same.

To me...deep state means that we need to impose term limits on Congress and Senate. For lack of better terms, the "deep state" refers to long term senators and Congressmen, who essentially sell out to special interest/lobbying groups and manage to amass fortunes in doing so. This applies to Republicans and Democrats as they are both equally responsible/corrupt.

The "Deep State" also refers to special intelligence (read CIA and FBI here) which have their own rules and whom they prefer/want in power.

That is my synopsis...
I thought that was the elite or the swamp.

Think both may be synonymous... Corruption on both sides and on all levels in my view. That is why I am a fan of term limits for the House and the Senate...

As for the intelligence community? ..Well, they run by their own rules!

With the estimated 1% of votes cast counted in each of the states (huffpost), I'd wait a little longer before getting too worried.

Trump has a wide lead in the first three states. Like you said, it's too early to tell.

Indiana and Kentucky are expected for Trump in any case, until they've counted over 66% of the votes I wouldn't try draw any conclusions. New Hampshire has only counted their silly "we're the first" votes, all 26 of them.

Sidenote, between starting to reply and now, Kentucky has swung massively, but still only 6% of votes so nothing even moderately conclusive yet.

I'm nervously watching and should really go to bed to timewarp to some more concrete numbers.

I don't want to suggest that Biden has dementia (it's a cheap shot), but getting the names of grandchildren mixed up isn't a great look.

You can't say that until you know where the vote has come from. It may well be from more Democrat parts of the state.

I can't remember about Kentucky but in Virginia expect to see Trump leading early on as the democratic Washington DC subburbs come in late.

In Florida it's the other way around - Democrat areas tend to come in early.

I was making the point that it was completely undetermined due to the low numbers. But we'll see as the number of counted votes go up.

With 80% of the votes counted in Florida it is very close; too soon to see who will win but hopes of a Biden landslide do not look so good!

88% of the Florida votes counted and Trump is 2 points ahead, does not
look good for Joe

Bodes badly for heavily Hispanic AZ. (although different sort of Hispanic). All eyes on the Midwest (and Nevada)

There seem to be a lot of nerves out there today! Relax, Joe Biden is going to win, just look at it dispassionately and the polls almost certainly can’t be that far off a second time. This assessment may come back to bite me but if Mr Biden doesn’t win after the endorsement from much of the main stream media, big tech and dare I say it, the deep state, then he probably doesn’t deserve to!
Is it too late to retract this prediction?!

Either way, I think it’s safe to say my hope of a conclusive result isn’t going to happen

Oh to be a constitutional lawyer in the US tomorrow!

You are the genius that wears masks incorrectly when it's mandatory, just to piss off the "conformists", right?

Does that pass for an interesting response where you live?

A Biden landslide was always unrealistic and only the dreamers thought this was going to happen. It will be a grinding war of attrition and Trump will use every trick in the book to stay in power. Nothing is certain.

One thing for sure is that if Trump get a second term then the Western world will become noticeably worse for it.

That silent majority i mentioned back in September?

Despite all the influence of twitter, facebook, influencers and celebrities and media.. Anybody saying anything good about trump being called a racist, marches and riots..

He seems to be doing rather well.

Says a lot when the poll at the top of the page here is more accurate than the combined polling power of the world's media and political scientists!

What's more, according to the exit poll he did better amongst all demographic groups OTHER than white men. Whatever the result, repeatedly calling Donald Trump sexist, racist etc. clearly hasn't worked!!
