Jeremy Corbyn has told a Beirut TV station which has carried pro-Russian reporting since the invasion of Ukraine that the west should stop arming Ukraine.
... “Pouring arms in isn’t going to bring about a solution, it’s only going to prolong and exaggerate this war,” Corbyn said. “We might be in for years and years of a war in Ukraine.” ...
“What I find disappointing is that hardly any of the world’s leaders use the word peace; they always use the language of more war, and more bellicose war.” ...
“This war is disastrous for the people of Ukraine, for the people of Russia, and for the safety and security of the whole world, and therefore there has to be much more effort put into peace.” ...

Not the first time he has seemed to soft-pedal on Russia.
Labour leader accused of 'policy of appeasement' after refusing to directly blame Russia for poisoning former spy
Jeremy Corbyn has faced widespread criticism from MPs over his response to Theresa May’s statement on the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, in Salisbury.
The Labour leader used his parliamentary response to ask whether samples of the nerve agent used in the attack had been sent to Moscow, and criticise Government over budget cuts to the diplomatic service.
While he called the poisoning of the Skripals an “appalling act of violence”, Mr Corbyn angered MPs by refusing to directly condemn Moscow over its alleged responsibility for the poisoning, which involved the “military grade” nerve agent Novichok.
Corbyn was interviewed by his friends, hizbullah, who were very sympathetic to the old antisemite.
He was sad that Russian "consripts" are dying in Ukraine, perhaps he should lay a wreath.
