CNN was savage and I loved it...perhaps not neutral reporting, but I didn't mind when they commented on how "small" Trump looked walking to the helicopter and about his "tiny" crowd at the airport. (So much schadenfreude lately.) Trump's vial words throughout his presidency deserved such a response, but I hope that we can now move on from all the toxic media.

I greatly miss Peter Jennings & Dan Rather ... Dan is luckily still with us and has provided us with very eloquent words about this past administration.

https://twitter.com/DanRather/status...7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Just another pensioner retiring to Florida.

It is incredible how much of Trump's legacy was reversed by Biden yesterday, far more than I listed in an earlier post and still more information emerging.

Trump's controversial appointment of a loyalist, Michael Ellis, the GOP operative who was installed as the top lawyer at the National Security Agency was claimed by the media to be very difficult for Biden to reverse aka "burrowing". Biden has simply placed Ellis on administrative leave, he has a far better understanding of the levers of Government power than Trump ever had.

Edit; A full list of Biden's first day 17 executive orders.

Haven't heard that one before. As far as I know, Biden's usual nickname is "Amtrak Joe", a nod to his long commute by train as a Senator.

I am not really a Democrat supporter just I was anti-Trump.

However, I am pleasantly surprised how Biden has so quickly and actively begun his Presidency.

Trump was a lot of talk and little action, so far Joe is proving to be the opposite; long may it continue.

Re: Will Biden be a good President?

One of the things I like are immigration reforms. US immigration is a Byzantine, disastrous process.

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...zenship-458455

The incoming administration will focus on decreasing wait times to obtain citizenship, granting automatic green cards to protected undocumented immigrants and adding immigration judges to decrease backlogs on court hearings, Vice President-elect Kamala Harris said on Tuesday.

———
So many undocumented immigrants arrived as children or asylum seekers. They deserve green cards as much as anyone.

And on another subject, so no surprise but there was no vaccination plan left for the new administration. Oh well....grifters are gone.

The Trump administration was even deporting ex-military who had fought for the US, that for me was the lowest of the low.

A full list of Biden's first day 17 executive orders.
It's such a pleasure to watch Biden go about the business of being President without all the ridiculous, self-aggrandizing showmanship.

Trump signed Executive Orders flanked by dozens of people for the photo op, using an oversized marker pen to compensate for some deficiency, then holding the signed document up like some prized artwork for all to admire and praise.

Sitting alone at his desk, for each Executive Order Biden gave a succinct overview, signed it with a normal pen, then closed the folder and moved on to the next one. He signed 17 Executive Orders in this way.

Here's some footage of Biden getting straight to work.

Incidentally, I'm looking forward to seeing Trump's note to Biden, left as tradition dictates on the Resolute Desk.

Aaaaah, the TonyClifon of old, the one who swears "I'm not a Trump supporter!"

Those are very pretty pictures. I assume that, given those diagrams, you would be able to go ahead and roll out half a billion vaccine doses successfully, yes? Those pictures are not a plan.

I think there is a difference between dumping vaccines on individual states and showing pretty bar charts and graphs and having a full fledged logistics plan with support to maximize distribution.

To say there has been no plan though is just not true though. The Biden Administration has committed to giving out 1 million vaccines per day in the first 100 days of his Presidency. Given that the US is almost there, and population adjusted, the UK is already well there, this isn't that ambitious a target. This is the type of thing independent media should point out rather than just acting as a shill.

For all Trump's many and major flaws, he's done an awful lot better than Europe on the vaccine.

Due to the pandemic, I've learned way more than I thought I would about the Swiss government & I am very disappointed. My initial impressions were incorrect...
