Exactly, or what the local regulations require. This is hardly the first tech company that had large layoffs this year.

Musk was entirely within his right to reduce the bloated payroll at Twitter.
Elon fired some essential people so continuing his successful efforts to close down Twitter.

If Elon is correct about losing $4M per day then his new $8 blue account fee will not go far. Say Twitter is losing $120M per month then he will need 15M $8 blue accounts.
Currently, according to google Twitter has around half a million free blue accounts which are a country mile short of 15M.

Do you have a source for your absurd claim that Twitter was bloated?
According to their latest financial statement, their 2021 revenue per employee was around three-quarters of a million, well above the tech company average of half a million and better than Tesla in 2021.

Maybe because being successful in one type of business(es) doesn't mean he's going to be successful in every business he starts/takes over.

His first moves are rather hasty, indeed.

That occurred to me, too. Tech platforms such as social media are a completely different beast to manufacturing/production, and if he waded in with his "I know everything and can do it all so you lot can get out" it'll be interesting to see how it pans out when he realises he's got rid of a whole swathe of people who know how the business works. Imagine how helpful the remaining people will be who saw all their colleagues get the boot.

Given his experience in tech platforms like Zip2 and Paypal, he's probably aware of that

Yes, two types:

1) Posting about how they are leaving yet staying
2) Bitching about how them being able to post utter garbage is infringing their 1st Amendment rights

Absolutely. Rockets and making them reusable, digital payment services, e-cars, photovoltaics, satellite communication, and large batteries, are all the same business.

There's absolutely no difference between them. The underlying technology is totally the same, too.

Yes I already saw that but was looking for something that independently verified it rather than an article simply reporting info from ‘internal FAQs’ but never mind.

It seems internal twitter discussions….of course could have been them leaking it to drum up business

Re: Cancel Culture

It seems Mr. Musk lost control of twitter narrative even after leading its acquisition.

IF the following news are true or not, it doesn't matter. The rumors of a fundamental change in the business model are quite damaging. If it's true.....it was a pleasure to shitpost along anonymous internauts for the last years.

"Musk" is now redefined as the unmistakable scent of didn't-think-it-through, isn't it?

Not surprising after their weird venture into the metaverse.
Far more generous terms for their employees than the super-rich Elon is offering.

They've expelled Sarah Silverman? lol. I would say somebody lacks a sense of humour. It is a really bad sign to expel comedians.
The times we're living in.
