I don't know why you seem to imply the problem lies with men, it's a more general issue. If anything I would say it is worse with younger, educated people. However this culture has spread and is now prevalent everywhere across the West. The best way to define it would be people actively looking for excuses to be upset or offended.

You’re arguing in favor of older stupider people? Yes. Exactly what the world needs more of. Gold. Comedy gold.

No ones safety was impinged upon. It was a bad taste joke, people need to get a grip.

Another consequence of cancel culture, there's no place for comedy.
No one's safety....

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry faced "disgusting and very real" threats from right-wing extremists, a former counterterrorism police chief has said.

In an interview with Britain's Channel 4 News on Tuesday, Neil Basu said the threats against Meghan were serious and credible enough that authorities had assigned teams to investigate them.

Well maybe it's a symptom caused by people going out of their way to think of ways to upset and offend others. Why else would you publish an article trumpeting about your "cellular hatred" of a woman and your dream to parade her naked round the streets whilst being pelted with shit.

If you think people aren't going to at least squirm a bit about that, it speaks more about one's own upbringing than anything else.

All this bull about freedom of speech is nonsense in this case. It's just unnecessary nastiness and I hope the "younger and more educated" end of the spectrum see it for what it is and let it die off with the angry and bitter end of the spectrum.

I guess the only explanation is that those that are freedom of speech absolutists have just painted themselves into a corner which means they basically have to defend every example of shameful, depraved and sick outburst in order to save face.
Also Jeremy Clarkson's daughter speaks out against his latest rant!

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/ent...b0f4895add2e8d

So it's only a few vocal people here that still believe it's a joke or whatevs.

Because as teenager I admired the free men defying the "system". While growing up I wanted to be like that writer or journalist risking everything to tell what they wanted to tell. It's a hard life I won't follow, but admire anyway.

Compare that to whiny men from today crying about losing a business opportunity.

Now they're risking everything for writing jokes. It's really that bad!

There's a bunch of dead journalists every year around the world that dared to tell something.

Whiny man that cries about theater play being "cancelled".

Who do you admire?

I don’t think journalists should be cancelled as I’ve stated already. Nor comedians or scientists for the crime of simply holding and opinion or making a joke. Admiration doesn’t come into it.

Comedians are not risking everything for making a joke. They're just risking business opportunities.

People died after taking horse medicine based on some scientist's opinions, such deaths are much less important than freedom of speech of course

The smart ones amongst us follow scientific facts, not opinions so staying alive and healthy.

Talking of freedom of speech Elon has been untypically quiet since getting voted out, he is probably curled up in a corner somewhere cuddling his pillow.

He has announced that in the future Twitter will be a voting democracy only for the rich who subscribe to the blue mark scheme. Luckily for the GOP anybody eligible can vote in State and Federal elections without financially subscribing to anything.

How about you play the ball instead of the player. It's as if that's the best you can manage.

Remember that the government stated that masks didn't help, in early COVID times? How many people would have died because of that?

Guide to Newspeak

New take from Stanford University at what language should be considered harmful and therefore not used. An entertaining review from the Stanford Review, apparently a student paper there.

The original language guide that this about can be found through the link in the article. It is a hilarious read.
