I personally prefer to see the Elon Musk saga than a "mix of insults" as you put it, so if you feel like talking about Elon, please be my guest. It's definitely better than using this thread as a platform for whatever vindictive nonsense.

Did you know that Elon Musk's Gulfstream G650ER has a top speed of 982 km/h? | | | | | And emits more CO2 in 1 transatlantic flight than several years of driving an evil internal combustion engine car.
Back to cancel culture, it was fascinating to see how Mr. Musk lied about automating driving with software, solar shingles, developing battery changing stations for electrical cars, a semi-truck among other stuff.
It seems that while he was lying to investors, some investors were happy as long as the share price went up. As share price goes down, people are discovering their morals. It's really interesting that no lie or misrepresentation related his business has brought him down yet. Ironically, it might be "free speech fighter" trip and Mr. Musk is blaming it on cancel culture. What a show! | This user would like to thank Axa for this useful post: | |

| | Re: Cancel Culture | Quote: | | | | | Maybe he should.
Nevermind that Bezos is only #5 by now, there's no way that this could make it an own goal.
The bile and hatred in this thread is astounding. | | | | | LOL!
I am sure there are many people with bigger problems than being the second richest man in the world.
You must agree it is comedy gold.
Elon buys a loss making company with borrowed money.
He sticks the company with his interest payments on the borrowed money, of at least $1 billion per year.
Then he starts spreading conspiracy theories so driving away most of his advertisers who are his company's main source of income.
He then made a big deal of unbanning Trump who is so ungrateful he is refusing to use Twitter. This is not surprising to anybody with half a brain as Trump is still hoping for a big cash payment from Truth Social and does not want to imperil that.
Even worse he is slowly convincing Tesla investors that maybe he is not such a genius businessman and the share price is collapsing; down almost 70% since he started his Twitter adventure.
Finally, why do right-wing people always accuse people they do not agree with of "hatred"?

A year or so ago, I had mentioned on here that I was really sick and was worrying that it might be Covid (and that I'm high-risk), and Kiwiguy had left a really nasty comment about it, basically implying that he hoped I became seriously ill. That was a huge red flag for me.

If you say so, I‘ll let others judge for themselves | | | | | Again, you had given me a red blob with that comment. If you had seriously meant that you wished for me to "get well soon," it would not have included the red blob. Therefore, I could only interpret your words as being sarcastic. Also, again, you and I had been arguing in another thread at that time.
This conversation is a waste of energy. You clearly have no problem dishing out the bullsh** but then when you're called out for it, you refuse to own up to it. There is no point in having this conversation anyways. What's done is done. It's in the past, and I don't really give that much of a sh** about it in the first place. "Choose your battles," as the saying goes. I don't want to waste other people's time here with us arguing about it.

Well you used a private comment I said and use it as your pièce de résistance to try to paint me in a certain way.
Except my comment is the exact opposite of what you tried to portray.
Sometimes get well soon is just that. I may not have liked your comments on certain topics (somethings stay the same) but despite that I still wished you no harm with what you were going through.

| | Re: Cancel Culture
Elon has run another of his unscientific cancel culture Twitter polls and so claiming that most people are against the US government funding bill for next year, is not surprising as most of the US people left on the platform are alt-right.
It is claimed that Elon has pledged up to two-thirds of his Tesla stock as loan collateral and now the price has fallen almost 70% he is under pressure to pledge more. The banks who lent Elon money (at rates up to 11.75%) to buy Twitter are unable to sell the debts and are pressing Elon for ways to protect the value of their loans.

| | Re: Cancel Culture
It seems "twitter files" as topic was cancelled around the world.
The use of "twitter files" as search term in google peaked on Dec. 3 and interest was lost since then. As expected, the USofA was the region with highest interest in "twitter files". Somehow, people in Slovenia are really into US politics gossip. Philippines 3rd and Canada 4th place.
However, Tesla interest dwarfs twitter. It is almost like twitter did not matter at all in the internet. Mainstream media self-censorship, the laptop of Hunter Biden, the FBI...and it seems people only cares about their retirement money
