Well, Amazon did not confirm or deny they were cancelling Mr. Clarkson's shows.

Mr. Clarkson just made a great example of "tell me you got fired without telling you got fired", full rant on Sunday Times:

Fun fact: it's about the world, absolutely not about him
That whole article is quite a ride, isn't it? That's hilarious!

Re: Cancel Culture

GOP not only defunding the tax police https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/23/p...licans-abolishbut cancelling them.

Within the first week of the new Congress, a dozen GOP lawmakers introduced a bill that would abolish the IRS altogether.
Separately, the GOP majority House voted to rescind nearly $80 billion in funding for the agency that Democrats approved last year.

Whatever happened to the party of law and order?

Neither bill stands a chance of making it into law anytime soon.

I thought UK school boys' lavatories are special!

Quote:
You probably think, because you don’t know this war is going on, that when you drop little Johnny off at the school gates he’s going to learn the nine times table that day. No, he isn’t. He’s learning that he might actually be a girl, which is why there are probably tampon dispensers in the boys’ lavatories.
With all this in place, they set about the police, and here they’ve done a tremendous job. Because, so far as I can tell, almost all the officers in the Met — apart from the terrifying number of sexual perverts — are now more wide awake than a frightened fox.

Will Elon Musk be blamed for this too?!

Further reflects what a ridiculous knee-jerk decision it was to ban the former president two years ago.

No, you've got the wrong demon. This one is Mark "I need more money" Zuckerberg. Love him or hate him, Trump generates a lot of clicks and page views and that equates to money.

Perhaps this is a factor, not sure it will help as it seems the former President is unwilling to leave Truth Social. If it is the case then all it shows is that these companies have zero morals (which we knew anyway), making more of a mockery of the original decision to ban him.

Eh? That makes zero sense or logic...

Where does the "morals" aspect come from?

Also makes zero sense. What does Elon have to do with this, Facebook and Instagram are his competition.

Re: Cancel Culture

The California State Bar yesterday charged John Eastman, an attorney closely allied with former President Donald Trump, with 11 disciplinary counts related to his alleged scheme to overturn President Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 election.

The Office of Chief Trial Counsel George Cardona intends to seek Eastman’s disbarment, according to a press release from the State Bar of California.

"Specific charges allege that Eastman made false and misleading statements regarding purported election fraud, including statements on January 6, 2021, at a rally in Washington, D.C., that contributed to provoking a crowd to assault and breach the Capitol to intimidate then-Vice President Pence and prevent the electoral count from proceeding."

If the state plucks Eastman’s license, that could put the former Justice Clarence Thomas clerk’s Supreme Court bar membership in further jeopardy as well.
He’s lead counsel on a Supreme Court amicus brief — meaning a brief filed by an outside party not directly involved in the case — supporting North Carolina Republicans and the so-called independent state legislature theory in Moore v. Harper.

Apart from the Capitol riot, I believe a lot of time is wasted in the US courts by lawyers bringing hopeless cases and any effort to reduce this is welcome.

Interesting debate on whether Sam Smith's new release vid is too much for the faint of heart, with some inexplicably drawing comparisons with the rape, violence and sex trafficking antics of Andrew Tate.
