She's a member of the royal family, the complete opposite of a democracy. Contrary to those born into the family she even took that decision intentionally and willingly.

Well, if she runs, we EF forward thinkers got a nice thread for her already. We will just take "Harry" out of the title. | The following 4 users would like to thank MusicChick for this useful post:

She is a wealthy, successful, person and American born.
Seems preferable to the Rock and she has an experienced partner for Presidential life.

| | | | | Actually, if you look at the history, that's really not the case. English, later British, royalty have largely been responsible, albeit sometimes reluctantly, for establishing a democracy where they themselves hold little or no executive power. They have provided a foundation for what has to be one of the longest-running, most stable democracies in the world.

<<“I’m not a fan of hers. I think that what she talks about the Royal family and the Queen, and I happen to think, I know the Queen as you know, I met with the Queen and I think the Queen is a tremendous person and I am not a fan of Meghan.”>>

It's why the Brexit poll wasn't binding, the people are HRM's subjects, and the Monarch is the sovereign. IIRC not even (all) the members of the House of Lords are elected by the common people - the two terms alone say enough.
That said, I would love to see Meghan run. Just imagine, a self-declared victim of the press running for POTUS and expected to impress giants like Merkel, Putin, or Yinping if elected. Twitter would overflow from all the super-outraged tweets triggered by Trump (or any other competitor) during their campaigns.

She's a member of the royal family, the complete opposite of a democracy. | | | | | Unlike Donald Trump, the sole or principal owner of an unlisted group of companies dealing in real estate development and assorted other activities and answerable to nobody in his everyday activities... not even to the IRS... | Quote: | | | | | IIRC not even (all) the members of the House of Lords are elected by the common people - the two terms alone say enough. | | | | | All Lords are appointed or hold hereditary peerages. The present queen's uncle, who also married an American actress BTW, was a chum of Hitler for example. And had a secret deal with Hitler that after Hitler had completed his conquest of Britain, that he would have his abdication reversed.

Karma | Quote: | | | | Former President Trump's luxury resort club Mar-a-Lago has reportedly been partially closed in response to an outbreak of COVID-19 at the Palm Beach, Fla. property.
Sources confirmed to The Associated Press that Mar-a-Lago has been closed until further notice in a cautionary move that follows positive COVID-19 tests. Several workers have reportedly been quarantined. | | | | | Did I ever post "you could not make this stuff up?"

This is more of a Friday post | Quote: | | | | Trump's personal Boeing 757 was always the crown jewel of his wealth -- the ultimate sign that he had made it. Trump loved to show it off -- the customized cream-colored leather seats, gilded bathrooms, the seat buckles layered in 24-karat gold.
But today it sits idle on an airport ramp in Orange County, New York, about 60 miles north of Manhattan.
One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic. The cost to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures, a price-tag Trump doesn't appear to be dealing with right now.
