It's astonishing how grey his hair went. (And pretty much every other president, although with Trump it's hard to tell there what's real and what isn't...)
might also have something to do with people getting older?

So writing an opinion on a forum is now the same thing as committing a crime, right?
More snowflake behavior, let me clarify that for you:

Continuously writing opinions that are in favor of someone who has committed crimes and/or the crimes themselves, leaves you open to criticism.

It does, yes. Glutathione levels are known to reduce with age as well as general oxidative stress (the two things are probably linked - more oxidative stress anyway as you age, regardless of general stress levels, but the stress levels make it worse). The question is, do we accept that or do we try to replenish those levels? There are other molecules that deplete with age as well (e.g. NAD+), that seem to be an interesting target for anti-aging strategies.

Hilarious, what other video taped evidence do you need?

And you might want to brush up on your English Max, this is the Englishforum.

I don't usually defend Urs Max but I have to say that his written English is pretty bloody good for a non-native.

Bush 41 didn't, at least doesn't appear to. Clinton's was already greying at the start of his presidency, so nothing unusual to see it significanlty grey when he left. See here for both.

Bush 43 was already pretty grey in this debate vs Gore.

Here's a site with some before and after pictures.

https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/lif...-after-office/

Bill Clinton definitely went grey early (probably in his 20s) so barely looked different; Reagan doesn't really count since his hair was 'manipulated'; Bush 41 wasn't there long enough (blink and you missed him); GW and Obama seem the worst.

Anyone from before the latter part of the 20th century looked decrepit anyway before they even started; people in old pictures frequently look prematurely aged because of the prevalence of smoking, air pollution, marginal diets and a generally tough life. That's why 60 is the new 40 now. (At least that's the narrative I tell myself...)

Video of the Capitol insurrection introduced by the Democratic impeachment managers revealed that as then-Vice President Pence fled the Capitol mob on Jan. 6, the “nuclear football” was accompanying him.

The backup “football” of equipment and nuclear codes needed to launch a strike is identical to the one carried by officials near the president.
It always follows the second in command in case the president becomes incapacitated.
The nuclear football was in play

Meh, fair enough... just allow me to take the piss out on a guy who regularly goes out of his way to provoke me with his sexist and other antagonistic comments.

This is what is known as an oxymoron; a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction.

It's usually projection. It's why bullies are often first to complain about the behaviour of others.

Not quite. But yes, that's what an oxymoron is. Perhaps the most infamous example being military intelligence.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to prove. People get older in eight years. Some people maybe age faster than others. Some people maybe have more stress than others, or have a less healthy lifestyle than others. Is this a ground breaking new discovery?

UM claimed the OP was guilty of lying and then wrote "innocent until proven guilty"

Agreed. That's why it's relevant that GW was already greying before becoming POTUS.

Re: Trump - post Presidency thread

As it is Friday I permit myself to publish some classical oxymorons

"I like a smuggler. He is the only honest thief." - Charles Lamb
"I can believe anything, provided that it is quite incredible." - Oscar Wilde
"And faith unfaithful kept him falsely true." - Alfred Tennyson
"Modern dancing is so old fashioned." - Samuel Goldwyn
"A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business." - Henry Ford
"I am a deeply superficial person." - Andy Warhol
"We're busy doing nothing." - Bing Crosby
"No one goes to that restaurant anymore. It's always too crowded." - Yogi Berra
"A joke is an extremely serious issue." - Winston Churchill
"I like humanity, but I loathe persons." - Edna St. Vincent Millay
"I generally advise persons never ever to present assistance." - P.G. Wodehouse

With thanks to Yogi Berra who I always confuse with Yogi Bear.

I suppose it depends. Were you aware that glutathione depletion is a factor in going grey (and also causing liver fibrosis in drinkers) and how you would raise levels of it? If not, it's groundbreaking. I was certainly impressed when I read about it.

Well, maybe if we were discussing this over on the science thread, it would be fascinating to analyze and discuss that in a greater level of detail. But I don't really see in what way it is more relevant for presidents than for anybody else.
