Been here too short a time for special beef or affinity with anyone on EF. Merely a way of saying that having also had a life scourged by a Communist regime has led me to somewhat different conclusions.

A “contest” - no. But you may find that some on EF have a similar background. You may also find that some Swiss have devoted years of their their career reclaiming, within international law, land and possessions for those that lost it. Determine the position of human remains and so on that were lost during such conflicts such as the Bosnian War etc.

You can talk on a human to human level.

I've never been a Euroskeptic, rather, I've been an Eurohater since I was in my 20s.

It was one of the main reasons that I became Swiss, to keep us out of that doomed nonsense.

I think most Eastern and Central European countries felt betrayed after Yalta conference for instance.

Indeed, they sacrificed the East for sure, but given the alternatives, it's not like there were a lot of alternatives...
