This “prime time” show, where the committee hired an ABC executive to produce it and make it TV friendly is what it is…..a desperate attempt to gloss over their own spectacular failure in governing the country in the last 18 months, where they have not delivered anything of substance to their voters, drove the economy into the ground (or at least they will get the blame), and try to at least mitigate the shellacking they will get in exactly 150 days

The Dems will get beaten up in November, most likely. And a lot of it is their own doing. Not so much Biden's, but the loony show on the far left.

Regardless, it is worthwhile having hearings and hopefully trials on an attempted coup. I believe it is more important to defend democracy from authoritarian kooks than to be concerned about gas at 5 bucks a gallon.

As Reagan said "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same ...". I believe this is true in America as it is in Europe.

Biden was successful to get the trillion infrastructure approved.
They should be running ads in every state about new jobs and repaired infrastructure.

Preaching to the choir…..the people who watch MSNBC already have their mind made up.

On the actual news channels Abc, CBS, NBC… 11 million people watched the trial. Consider that on a typical day 18-20 million watch the nightly news, which is not in primetime

Do you have a source for your numbers?

About 20 million people in the United States tuned in to the first hearing on the House's investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol Thursday night, according to preliminary data released by Nielsen on Friday.

Also according to Nielsen, this audience was more than double the highest rated regularly scheduled primetime program this year.

Reminds me;
The House select committee investigating the Capitol riot released text messages on Thursday between Hannity and then-White House Press Sec. Kayleigh McEnany, in which the conservative news host discussed the details of his conversation with Trump on January 7, 2021, following the attack on the Capitol.

According to one text message from Hannity, one pitch, in particular, seemed to pique the former president's interest: issuing a last-minute presidential pardon for Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.

Would that have been illegal, doesn't Arizona's parliament have that authority?
(30-40% of the electors aren't bound to the public vote, their conscience is the final arbiter. Roughly half of the rest go without punishment if they decide to not go by the public vote. I believe that makes my question a valid one.)

If not, where do you draw the line, do spouses have to agree with one another politically at all times?

In Arizona, the 11 electors come from the same political party as the presidential candidate who wins the majority vote in the state in November, they’re chosen in advance by state party leaders.

So far as I know the State Parliament has no role; but I do not know everything

Arizona's electors are bound to their plegde, and them pledging to the "right" one will be a precondition of them getting nominated.

But they still must have an option to interfere, otherwise her text would have been moot to begin with.

Double-edged sword. De Santis is building his campaign and winning over quite some support. I cannot quote any polls on this, but my gut feel is that the Dems might have it easier running against Trump than De Santis in 2024. I guess Murdoch is just switching horses now that Trumpism seems established enough to survive without Trump.
