RICO sounds good to me. Right up there with "The mob takes the fifth".

| | Re: January 6 US Capitol Insurrection | Quote: | | | | A sentence of four months in prison that ex-Trump adviser Steve Bannon was sentenced to was shorter than the six months prosecutors were seeking, but still a noteworthy punishment and a boost to the House January 6 committee’s efforts. | | | | | No doubt there will be appeals and such.
Edit: A January 6 rioter, Mark Mazza, who carried two loaded handguns onto US Capitol grounds during the insurrection was sentenced to 60 months in jail on Friday after pleading guilty to assaulting an officer that day and unlawfully carrying a firearm.
Who was it claimed there were no firearms?

The Supreme Court on Tuesday cleared the way for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to face questioning before a grand jury investigating 2020 election interference in Georgia.
Lindsey is suspected of pressuring Georgia officials to reverse the Biden election win.
The suit by Trump aide and former chief of staff, Mark Meadows seeking to block Georgia grand jury subpoenas was dismissed by a South Carolina judge.
His suit to dismiss Jan 6 committee subpoenas was also dismissed by a DC Washington judge, likely he will appeal.
Michael A. Riley, 51, a former U.S. Capitol Police officer was found guilty on Friday of obstruction of justice for trying to cover up the fact that he had sent Facebook messages to a Jan. 6 rioter offering advice on how to avoid getting caught, the authorities said. He could face up to 20 years in prison, following a trial in U.S. District Court in Washington.
He was the only U.S. Capitol Police officer charged with a crime related to Jan 6.

Pity the time remaining is so short
" The Supreme Court cleared the way on Monday for the House select committee investigating the January 6 US Capitol attack to obtain the phone and text records of Arizona Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward. Ward served as a fake elector for Donald Trump in Arizona"

The Oath Keepers trial is over
"The two defendants convicted of seditious conspiracy — Stewart Rhodes the Oath Keepers leader and Kelly Meggs — face a 20-year maximum prison sentence on that charge.
They, along with the other three defendants — Kenneth Harrelson, Jessica Watkins and Thomas Caldwell – were convicted of obstructing an official proceeding, which also carries a 20-year maximum sentence.
The defendants were convicted of multiple other charges, and the judge could issue a sentence that exceeds 20 years. Conversely, the judge could decide to sentence defendants to far less than the maximum allowed."
Remember seditious conspiracy is a more serious charge than treason with a longer maximum prison sentence.

The GOP issued a counter report that concentrated on security issues at the Capitol.
The elephant in this room which the GOP did not mention is that no extra security would have been needed had the President not incited a mob to attack the Capitol.
The Jan 6 panel issued a batch of witness testimonies, notably many of them were just a long list of "take the fifth".
Remember Trump said "The mob takes the fifth".

Never ending story, luckily Trump supporters are so stupid to post pictures on social media of themselves breaking the law. | Quote: | | | | Three active-duty Marines who work in intelligence – one of whom allegedly espoused support for a second civil war – were arrested this week for breaching the US Capitol building with a mob of Trump supporters on January 6, 2021.
Cpl. Micah Coomer and Sgts. Joshua Abate and Dodge Dale Hellonen are facing several charges, including disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. FBI agents first became aware of Coomer because he posted pictures of himself inside the Capitol building on Instagram,

| | Re: January 6 US Capitol Insurrection A New York appeals court five-judge panel today unanimously rejected Fox News’ and host Maria Bartiromo and former host Lou Dobbs bids to shut down a multibillion-dollar defamation lawsuit accusing the network of spreading lies that a voting-technology company helped “steal” the 2020 election from then-U.S. President Donald Trump. They also reinstated similar claims against Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, claims a lower court had thrown out.
The judges wrote; “the complaint alleges in a detailed fashion that in their coverage and commentary, Fox News, Dobbs, and Bartiromo effectively endorsed and participated in the statements with reckless disregard for or serious doubts about” whether there was any reliable evidence for them,

Police giving people a grand tour of the Capitol. INSURRECTION!!!! | | | | | A shameful attempt by Tucker to whitewash the events.
What sort of person can close their mind to the fact that 140 police were injured?
Does anybody else remember when the GOP was the party of "law and order"? | Quote: | | | | US Capitol Police chief rips into Tucker Carlson over ‘offensive’ use of January 6 footage saying the host “cherry-picked” from the footage to present “offensive” and “misleading” conclusions about the attack.

Sadly another lie, in reality; | Quote: | | | | Capitol Police said on Monday. “So far we have only been given the ability to preview a single clip out of the multiple clips that aired.”

We are lucky that it (unlike BLM) was a mostly harmless upstanding. (except for the unarmed veteran who was killed) It easily could have been much worse.
However, the reaction to it and the hyperbole that was used for 2 years to punish people beyond all reason, to stifle anyone who questioned the narrative, to rewrite the actual events what happened that day, and to twist the event for political purposes should also be exposed if we live in a free society.
