There are born women who can't have periods and can't bear a child. I know a couple.

I guess that since they can't fulfil their human role of reproduction to keep the human race alive, they are not women. What are they? men with vaginas? should we sacrifice them as they are not useful to society?
It's not about that if you ask me If we agree on that , how a gender is a social, mental (whatever) concept.. that's a one thing . On tinder I can choose now 35 genders , I can be monobinary , polyibinary, .half/half, pangender, genderqueer, two-spirit, third gender ...
Someone can feel, want or just decide to be this or that and be it .

But, in the eyes of the nature/science once we dig a skeleton , we can choose from "female" "male" and it ends at that .

Same goes for the whole animal world. Perhaps the poor ragondin was a male but felt binary and also a female . ? hm ? but his bones will give the answer.

What is worrying about the whole gender thing ..is the fact how we're talking about how much of the population ? 2 % 7 % ? the reason I said worrying is because to me it's as if someone pulls the strings and is blinding is with an illusion of how "wow we're progressing as a society" "everything is good , now you can choose from 35genders " while at the same time we're regressing in so many areas ... insulin prices are going crazy, chemotherapy prices /insurances tightening their conditions is insane and cancer is blooming but the reasons for it are being ignored , and 6 months ago > they've started Trading water at the nasdaq , Chicago Mercantile Exchange have allowed it .

This is never discussed on tv poltical shows , no one is protesting , as if it's totally insignificant . but, we have all the time and money to spend on talks about genders , drag queens telling bedtime stories in kindergardens ... Either we're deep into Idiocracy(film) or maybe I'm wrong ??? someone better have some good arguments to proove me wrong

I have no idea who Amber Heard is but I also heard that Disney is keen on employing violent psychopaths. Not.
She's Depp's ex-wife and demanding $$$millions for the divorce after violently attacking and harming him while he was peaceful.

I'd be honestly surprised, and most positively so, if you looked into it.

You wrote it.

Are you trying to get a reaction?
Let me make it easy for you with commas:

It will only discourage many girls, many of whom already have confidence issues, from taking part in competitive sport.

Re: Men are simply better at everything?

To add humour to the topic, in a dystopic parallele world, Soviet Union collapsed into the confederation of independent states called CIS and therefore cis women would be androids Navratilova-style, competing against afro-originated Semaya-style.

Well, at least in the Rocky III movie, the Russian blonde pugilist was fighting against the italian stallion Silvester Stallone. An homage to the original american race definition of italian//greek/spanish people as "blacks".

Back to being serious ... wtf? now do we have to worry about the spoiled dreams of rich teenagers being a athlethic superstars? professional sport is entertainment, and of quite low level.

I can read.

Of course some girls (the term you were looking for was women, I believe) have confidence issues in sport, so do some men.

It may discourage women from taking part because of lots of factors and I bet the main one is lack of finance and sponsorship deals if they're not the leaders in the pack but your tone is pretty condescending and making a lot of assumptions about women in sport (compared with men in sport).

Trading of acre-foot of water? That sounds interesting. Read about some years ago and believed it was never implemented, how wrong I was. Thanks for the lead, will read during vacation https://www.nasdaq.com/solutions/nas...es-water-index

Clearly you need commas.

I used the term girls deliberately, its not a condescending term for most people.

you're also making a lot of assumptions about trans women. its a talkboard not a law court

What assumptions have I made? I don't believe I've made any.

How many trans-women do you know? How many trans-men? For, what it's worth, how many women (not girls) do you know?

Midfield and Tom, with all due respect please place each other on ignore. It's clear you don't see eye to eye on this (and other things) and never will. Ignore can be your friend.

No thanks. I don't see eye to eye with most people on the forum since the mod change. Should I leave as well? Is that how it works now?

I'd like to put MusicChick on ignore though for blatantly trolling. Can you arrange that please.

Is the discussion actually a joke to you?

The subject of trans-gender athletes has been in the news a lot recently because of the Olympics in Japan.

Agreed - there's nothing shocking in this thread but I'm not sure it should be in the joke section and it is certainly not a laughing matter to those actually involved.
This - It's a very involved discussion in social media - linked to the encroaching of males into female spaces (women's centres, healthcare, gyms etc).

Quote:

Do we have any links to professional lady-competitors complaining about this problem at all?
Not got a link but it was fairly recently in the news that transgender natal-male people were competing in women's sports at high school level and essentially robbing female competitors of university scholarships etc.

Just to clarify, transwomen are often still wholly intact male bodied people.

Transwomen are transwomen: biologically male. And yes, only females have the capacity to reproduce. That doesn't mean that all women can/do reproduce. No male person can reproduce.

There's nothing passive about it. It's pretty obvious that I think that you wrote some s**t.

Do you always throw your toys out of the pram when someone disagrees with you?

Should we all just act like sheep and thank you posts?

So back to the thread - I noticed you didn't answer my questions but attacked me instead.

I'm not the only one who 'misinterpreted' what you wrote about women lacking confidence in sport:

Confidence issues in sport women? Because of the few potential trans women. With all respect, if you think women lack confidence in sports you're very much mistaken.

English is your native tongue, you should understand this:

"It will only discourage many girls, many of whom already have confidence issues, from taking part in competitive sport."
