I always wondered to which point he was a humorist and which more of an over-enthusiast. I loved the manly drama he always pulled off. Without a beard, mostly.

Some of his stunts: the helicopter ladder (several times), but he also did most of this:
Between humor and shtick, too many to name, but he did tend towards slapstick even in the cop movies.
Quite an era for French movies. Being sick, I guess Delon will go pretty soon too, and after Bardot there won't be many left... though Deneuve started in the 1960s too.

I love this too, it's the complete opposite, I think:
And then of course - current wine maker, Pierre Richard. Charming too.

I had Pierre Richard as more of a 70's actor based on his pairings with Depardieu and these great Veber comedies, but indeed, he is 87... I guess it makes sense, his acting is "of the stage", and pure comics take a while to break through.

Yeah, Pierre Richard is a master of a mix of naieve, nonchallant and cringe, sooo him. I prefer him to Woody Allen.

Not a bad last goodbye pump-wise, for an actor. And one last blast of that Morricone score: https://video.lefigaro.fr/figaro/vid...professionnel/
And from the national honor, to the funeral mass at at Saint-Germain des Prés, a glorious abbey of French kings and queens.
Way to go, Bébel!

I know its RIP thread but Belmondo had a fascinating life, pretty sure he will get a good place up there.
The only actor who could match his character and charisma is ofc Italian Adriano Celentano
Shame they never played together, altho considering both are extreme alphas, I guess it would be impossible.
