Yet another proof of the fact that Trump treats the state as his own private property and that he believes he can do whatever he wants. God I hope the GOP has some foresight and picks up presidential candidates which can move away from Trumpism...the GOP needs it, the US needs and the world needs it.

I agree, there should be a move away from Trump but depending on what you define as "Trumpism" a bunch of the ideas are here to stay as they are very popular with many republicans and some democrats

Sure, rebuilding the infrastructure was an excellent idea.

The likelihood of this is decreasing every day. And if I may ask, who would you see in the GOP?

I agree they need to rewrite the immigration policy.

Today, according to the US Dept of Labour there are only 6 unemployed people for every 10 job openings, if they do not bring in a lot more immigrants then the economic growth will collapse due to lack of workers.

Liz Cheney? She is the only one with moral standing.

She will certainly not be the nominee. And in terms of policy, she is hardcore conservative. I would like to see one of the moderate governors like Sununu.

Joe Rogan anyone?

Finally we agree. There needs to be controlled, skill-based immigration in sectors where we actually need help. (like new Zealands or Canada's)

Re: All about Trump and 2024

Those names mentioned are a left-wing pipe dream. Why even mention them? They would not carry a single state

I hope the days where mild Republicans like Bush or Romney are nominated are over. The media pretends to stay neutral with them up until they get nominated and then the knives come out and they are killed. Trump showed that the media can kill a candidate but if he excites the people, they will vote for him

The DNC/Hillary email leaks showed the early playbook. Despite what Trump had already said, (mexican rapists, etc) they give him major airtime, promotion with the hope that he eliminates Republicans with less baggage. Once “winnable” candidates like Bush were out, then the media would work to bury Trump. (Access Hollywood tape being one tool that was saved for this)

I mentioned who I really think the GOP front runners for 24 are in the other thread some days ago. A list that is scary, even if you are a conservative.

He was on my list. Not sure he stands for anything though other than a lust for power. But he is smarter than he looks. One thing he has in common with Tucker Carlson.

Is there a politician without a lust for power? I think he has been doing things in Florida for the past year+ to audition and it is good stuff.

No. But if it is the only motivator and no visible policy agenda, for me this is a no go. I don't know much about DeSantis, but his policy agenda seemed to be buzz words about the border and "freedom".

A quarter of US job vacancies are in accomodation, food and retail so not really skill based?

And 75% are not, so what's your point?

And even if we should allow more lower skilled workers to come to the US, isn't it discriminatory to completely open just one avenue of immigration. (illegal by southern border) There are tons of disadvantaged eastern europeans, asians, africans who don't have geographic privilege of being able to feasibly get to the border

I sense a business opportunity, pick them up in eastern Belarus and fly them to the US.

They can even service and entertain each other, according to marton that doesn't take skill.

Seems racist?

Anyway throwing these poorly aimed and fact-free allegations is very sad.

The International Renaissance Foundation, a part of the Open Society Foundations, was established by Soros in Kyiv (Ukraine) in April 1990. The Soros foundation left Belarus in 1997 after multiple attacks by the Govt.

Belarusian authorities dissolved at least 46 human rights and other civil society organizations [NGOs] last year, Ukraine has many NGOs.
