The sad truth is probably that both Biden and Trump are not mentally competent.
The US Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) did issue a report in 2020 stating Russian interference in the Presidential election included "allegations of Biden's poor mental health" which interference seems to have been effective in influencing people.

In other news "A California judge on Friday tossed out former President Trump’s lawsuit that sought to lift his Twitter ban.

U.S. District Judge James Donato said in his ruling that Trump’s claims that Twitter’s ban against him violated the First Amendment did not hold much water, given that the amendment only applies to the government violations of the right and not private company abridgments."

No doubt there will be appeals and such but the fact is the First Amendment is not a universal right as it does not apply to private companies.

Trump has stated he will only be a member of Truth Social and not return to Twitter, even if permitted to.

Since he's a man of his word, I expect to see him Tweeting again by next week.

Luckily Jack Dorsey is no longer the CEO so his comments are futile.

Well, whatever happens it is not the same twitter now as it has been since early 2021. It is much more enjoyable to read now, many banned people are unbanned, tons of interesting dialogue....

Hats off to Mr. Musk

Musk takeover will not happen until near the end of this year so are you sure there is mass unbanning now?

Twitter has acknowledged mass deactivations following Elon Musk’s purchase of the company. A representative for Twitter told NBC News that the trend was an “organic” occurrence among users.

Anyway, I thought you are using Truth Social now?

Re: All about Trump and 2024

Before the company behind "Truth Social" goes public it has to file a " FORM S-4 REGISTRATION STATEMENT UNDER THE SECURITIES ACT OF 1933" to get UNITED STATES SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION approval.
This form was filed today for TMTG (Truth Social), usually these are very boring documents but this time the risk factors are worth a read just for amusement, as follows;
  • “A number of companies that were associated with President Trump have filed for bankruptcy. There can be no assurances that TMTG will not also become bankrupt,”
  • “A number of companies that had license agreements with President Trump have failed. There can be no assurances that TMTG will not also fail,”
  • “Trump Shuttle, Inc., launched by President Trump in 1989, defaulted on its loans in 1990 and ceased to exist by 1992.
  • Trump University, founded by President Trump in 2005, ceased operations in 2011 amid lawsuits and investigations regarding the company’s business practices.
  • Trump Vodka, a brand of vodka produced by Drinks Americas under license from the Trump Organization, was introduced in 2005 and discontinued in 2011.
  • Trump Mortgage, LLC, a financial services company founded by President Trump in 2006, ceased operations in 2007.
  • GoTrump.com, a travel site founded by President Trump in 2006, ceased operations in 2007.
  • Trump Steaks, a brand of steak and other meats founded by President Trump in 2007, discontinued sales two months after its launch.”
  • “President Trump is involved in numerous lawsuits and other matters that could damage his reputation, cause him to be distracted from the business or could force him to resign from TMTG’s board of directors”

No doubt risk takers will be lining up to throw billions into this company that has no business plan, no financial track record, no financial projections, and no metrics on their daily or monthly active user numbers.

Also from that S-4 form

"President Trump graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 with a B.S. degree in economics. As a result of his vast business experience and his former role as president of the United States, President Trump embodies an iconic brand and brings invaluable entrepreneurial and leadership skills to our board."

Leader of many failed and bankrupt companies; yeah, just what they need.

Who cares? He will always be able to raise money even though his shitty companies may go bust. He has raised probably hundreds of millions in campaign-related donations where the small print says the money may be used for God knows what.

There are corporate donors who can easily afford a few millions to hwdge their bets. And then there the millions of idiots who still think he is anything but a con artist. The type of people who play the lottery although they can't afford it, I guess.

Re: All about Trump and 2024

regarding the twitter deal with Elon Musk. There is still the debate of how many twitter users are real and how many are fake.

One study has shown that over half of Joe Bidens followers are fake or inactive accounts.

I don’t even need to state the obvious joke there

The same "report" also said that 70% of Musk's followers were fake or inactive.

What was the point that you were actually trying to make? Perhaps:

"Many well-known Twitter accounts are followed by fake, bots or inactive accounts".

Not such a good headline for you woke people though is it?

The twitter deal that Elon is now trying to run away from?

The registration form for Truth Social I mentioned earlier is a gold mine, for example,
"President Trump is generally obligated to make any social media post on TruthSocial and may not make the same post on another social media site for 6 hours. Thereafter, he is free to post on any site to which he has access.
Thus, TMTG has limited time to benefit from his posts and followers may not find it compelling to use TruthSocial to read his posts that quickly.
In addition, he may make a post from a personal account related to political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the-vote efforts on any social media site at any time."

As entertaining as the Twitter discussion is - here is what moves voters. This is quite a challenge for the Dems, especially if they keep on focusing on the fringe issues and waste efforts on fighting back on the culture war.

Unfortunately the poll was started 1-2 weeks early, otherwise abortion would have been far more prominent in people's minds.

That is a fair point. Rather helps the Dems, I would say. They just need to move to the center. Their stupidity is unbelievable, like their pitiful Senate vote on Roe v Wade showed.

Why stupidity? That must have been intentional, nobody is that stupid (I hope).

I see it as preparation for the midterms, nothing beats a little outrage. Biden must have gained back lots of ground thanks to Ukraine, every group tends to unite behind the leader when faced with a threat from the outside like war.

Re: All about Trump and 2024

Former President Donald Trump has urged his nominee celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz to declare victory in Tuesday's too-close-to-call Pennsylvania Republican Senate primary, even as votes show his lead narrowing.

"Here we go again," Mr Trump said of the primary. "In Pennsylvania, they are unable to count the mail-in ballots. It is a big mess."

At the moment Oz is in the lead over McCormick by just over 1,000 votes with ca. 1.3 million (98%) votes counted. The remainder is mostly postal votes and the problem for Oz/Trump is that hard core Trump voters tend not to use postal votes so likely Oz's lead will decline or vanish.

Pennsylvania law is that they are not allowed to start counting postal votes until the election is over and that counting is a very slow business due to the extra checking.

Anyway, with such a narrow margin it is likely a recount will have to be made before the final result is declared.

So far in the primaries the republican turnout is significantly higher than the dems. 55% in states like NC and Pennsylvania.
