i agree they handled it beautifully - treated them with dignity and respect whilst using the military to deport them immediately.
They arrived at Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday and were taken to Cape Cod on Friday. They were voluntarily taken to the base and were happy to go there.

The immigrants had initially been lied to and were told that they were being taken to Boston (not Martha's Vineyard) when they were coerced to board a plane in Texas, and then Florida, etc. They were told they were being taken to Boston to get work papers. That was a lie.

You should really turn off the Fox news for a while and expand your source of knowledge.

The only thing that this publicity stunt has accomplished is shining a spotlight on the GOP's lack of empathy and willingness to stoop to the lowest of levels.

But in that regard, to many of us, it's really not so surprising. First they deny losing an election. Then they attack the Capitol. Then they take away women's rights to choose for themselves whether or not they want to be a mother. What's next? Are all Americans going to be forced to convert to Christianity? Maybe they'll start taking "illegals" out to the firing squads and Fox News can air it on national television so all their supporters can watch in satisfaction while cheering in their MAGA hats.

Again, the people living in border towns are not expected to provide housing to immigrants. They're not expected to open up their homes to them. What about that do you NOT understand? And can you please explain exactly how their "entire infrastructure is overwhelmed by illegal immigrants?" Is it that they're eating up all the McDonald's or crowding the movie theaters or buying up all the Playstation 5's at Walmart?
education, healthcare and police resources to name a few.

infrastructure:
The basic facilities, services, and installations needed for the functioning of a community or society, such as transportation and communications systems, water and power lines, and public institutions including schools, post offices, and prisons.

I realize that believing them doesn't fit your personal narrative and/or your dislike of immigrants, but I think it's rather unlikely that they all decided to pretend they thought they were going to Boston before arriving in Martha's Vineyard and then conspired to act shocked toward the people living there when they realized they weren't in Boston.

The only other choice is to trust the words of alt right politicians who claim the last presidential election was fraudulent.

In the last month, polls show Dem candidate Crist has gained two points versus DeSantis in the Florida governor race, soon DeSantis will be voted out just like Trump.

Edit: This human trafficking move by DeSantis dominated the radio and television airwaves in South Florida — where large swaths of Hispanic voters live. One Spanish radio host loudly denounced the move and even compared DeSantis’ actions to that of deceased Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, who relocated Cubans in the early ‘60s.

Adelys Ferro, who heads the nonprofit Venezuelan-American Caucus, said it's "hypocritical" of GOP politicians to curry votes in the Venezuelan exile community by condemning the socialist dictatorship in Venezuela that so many thousands of Venezuelan refugees are fleeing, "only to turn around and then show, like this, that they really don't want Venezuelans here."

All of this talk of “illegals breaking laws” while those in power openly do so.

Ted Cruz forced to admit trafficking migrants to Martha’s Vineyard is illegal in Sean Hannity interview

Ron DeSantis widely criticised for flying two planeloads of Venezuelans to upscale Massachusetts island

No, this is based on your own comments here. You have been condoning the actions of DeSantis and his dehumanization of immigrants by using them as political pawns. By condoning their dehumanization, that itself is the act of dehumanizing them.

If you are seeking asylum in the US, you must be either in the US or at a port of entry. It is not “illegal” to cross the border in that case.

They have been. But I guess you weren't paying attention because that contradicts the delusion that nothing has been being done about immigrants at the border during Biden's administration.

"In fiscal year 2021, which included Mr. Biden's first eight full months in office, Border Patrol recorded 1.66 million arrests along the southern border, surpassing the previous all-time high of 1.64 million arrests set in 2000, CBP data show.

During the first 10 months of fiscal year 2022, Border Patrol agents along the Mexican border reported more than 1.8 million apprehensions, a new record high that will likely surpass 2 million when fiscal year 2023 starts in October, according to the CBP figures."

"Since March 2020, U.S. border agents have used a public health law known as Title 42 to quickly expel hundreds of thousands of migrants to northern Mexico or directly to their home country without allowing them to request asylum.

In fiscal year 2021, 63%, or just over 1 million, of Border Patrol apprehensions resulted in migrants being expelled under Title 42, government data show. Nearly 50% of the 1.8 million Border Patrol arrests in the first 10 months of fiscal year 2022 turned into rapid expulsions to Mexico or migrants' home country."

This is why from a purely political perspective this was a very astute move from Governor DeSantis. It both draws attention to the crisis at the border and plants the seed of NIMBY hypocrisy of coastal Democrat voters.

Calling it politically astute and giving supporting reasons certainly came across as you seeing the stunt as positive. Are you saying now that you condemn his actions to dehumanise immigrants?

No, the problem is your self-contradiction and inability to 'own' your words.

It's clearly pointless to even attempt to engage in a rational conversation with you, because you say something and then later try to deny it and try to flip the narrative on it and say that the problem is someone else rather than yourself.

So perhaps I should be more direct:

Do you condone DeSantis sending the immigrants to Martha's Vineyard? Because in your two posts below, you have praised and condoned it and then later denied that you condoned it.
