| | Re: All about Trump and 2024 | Quote: | | | | | Pete is generally not well liked by black voters. He comes off as tone deaf and many black voters have been feeling as if they've been taken for granted, considering how they've consistently delivered for the Democrats over the years. Here are some articles that give some of his issues from the last time around, and I haven't seen or heard much improvement.
If Harris is dropped on the ticket, the Democrats have absolutely got to have a plan in place to keep minority voters, especially black and latino. Buttigieg doesn't have much, if any, credibility there, where Biden was Obama's biggest cheerleader, even though he was an old white guy. Another white dude, unless having real connections with black or latino voters, would likely lose a lot of the voters. Beto O'Rourke hasn't won enough in his home state to be that guy, yet, he'd be no better than a VP candidate - at best. Sanders is too old, as is Biden. Dropping Harris will lose a lot of votes from the Democratic core, unless there is a serious alternate, popular with Black voters. This is why I think Duckworth is a decent alternative - she grew up poor, has a mixed race background, has physical disabilities that she's overcome, she's not rich, she has been popular in a state with a considerable black and minority electorate, she's got military service, and does not come off as entitled - all things important to minority voters.
I think currently, the likely ticket will be Harris/Buttigieg, and I'm not sure if that's enough... it's an interesting problem, and I doubt that Trump will be the candidate, and I'm not sure that he'll even be in a position to have a "third" party, whatever that zoo would look like, so he won't be splitting Republican votes. Almost the best thing Biden could do now is retire with a health issue or (unfortunately) die before the end of 2023, allowing Harris to step in and be president and presidential, and mainly to get voters to see that the US is fine with a black female president. If that happens, unless she has a major scandal, she could easily win. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlo...-race-problem/ https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politic...-a-closer-look https://prospect.org/civil-rights/af...ieg-very-well/ https://revealnews.org/article/mayor...em-in-indiana/ | | | | | I’m a liberal that doesn’t want to see anyone chosen simply for their sex or the color of their skin, that isn’t progress … I want the best person to run.
Will have a read through the articles, thank-you.

Beggars belief | Quote: | | | | Two documents with classified markings were found in a Florida storage unit during a search by a team hired by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers, a person familiar with the situation told CNN. | | | | | Presumably, this non-government team was not in possession of the necessary security clearances to view classified documents.
How many more secret documents are floating around?

I voted for Obama because I thought he would be a fantastic POTUS (and he was although disappointing at times), not because he was black. I miss him everyday and I wish his wife would run ... bring on the groans.
Anyway, we will have to see. Harris has been M.I.A. during her tenure as VP, I don't think she's a good choice. It has been disappointing as I was so excited to see what she would do.

However! IMHO! Will be happy to see anyone serve. Red or blue. Only as long as they are competant, courteous, respectful and duly qualified.

Maybe. Maybe not. Are you wealthy? Don't forget. Americans had no problem banking here till Obama came along.

Remember Biden's "you're not black if you don't vote Democrat". Even now he seems to think that the "black man" needs to be told what to do and how to behave.

Senator Sinema leaving Democratic Party and will register as independent | | | | | She is utterly unpopular among Democratic voters (like 50 points negative or worse) and unlikely to survive a Democratic primary. So maybe politically there is a logic in this move - although it is likely she will just be marginalized between GOP and Dems in 2024.
She has said she will continue to caucus with the Dems, and on policy she mostly voted with Biden anyway. So maybe not much changes. Bernie and King are independents also.
