Well, perhaps the unforeseen consequences will be Rebubicans rejected in State elections. The majority of US residents favour abortion on demand.
The SC court has not made abortion illegal. They have just said it’s up to the states.

Yeah, that amazingly is even worse than the worst of the US states' anti-abortion plans. |

Pro-lifers won't be the ones coughing up financial support for all those little beating hearts. Doubt any of them support their local orphanages, etc, with good hard cash. Nor would they consider fostering/adopting an orphan. | The following 6 users would like to thank Medea Fleecestealer for this useful post: | |

I hear Justice Alito also supports repealing color TV, so that the 1950 feeling becomes even more real. At least in the South.

Tate Reeves has three young daughters. He'd better keep them away from Matt Gaetz now that abortion's off the cards.

More hearts beating, more strollers pushed, more report cards given, perhaps... but there's a medium-sized leap from there to more little league games playes, and a massive, huge, unfinanced leap to "more lives well lived"!

And possibly more to come - at least in Clarence Thomas' concurring opinion: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/24/u...bergefell.html
From the article: Justice Clarence Thomas, in his concurring opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, laid out a vision that fomented fears about what other rights could disappear: The same rationale that the Supreme Court used to declare there was no right to abortion, he said, should also be used to overturn cases establishing rights to contraception, same-sex consensual relations and same-sex marriage.
(It should be noted that Thomas' is a concurring opinion, not the majority opinion, in which Alito said that nothing in its decision “should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion".
However, Thomas' concurring opinion is certainly chilling - there are many in the US who want, like Thomas, to see the 'privacy' based landmark decisions (Griswold v Connecticut, Lawrence v Texas, Obergefell v Hodges) in the crosshairs.
