BBC religion editor Aleem Maqbool

“With the death of Pope Benedict XI the Catholic world has lost an unrivalled receptacle of theological knowledge, intellectualism and lived experience.”

showing his roman numeral skills ..

Benedict would be “remembered chiefly for his failure to achieve what should have been his job one: to rectify the incalculable harm done to the hundreds of thousands of children sexually abused by Catholic priests.”

Re: RIP PapaRatzi!

The best thing he did was to resign.

Not sure why the BBC is going OTT about him, he is just a man but they are acting like he is Pele.

He's also was a head of state as well as worldwide head of the catholic church so is given coverage as befits such a person.

Not sure it's been OTT on BBC radio at all. I don't watch TV so have no idea about that.

I can’t say that I’ve noticed the BBC coverage to be OTT at all.

It was the normal coverage they give to anybody in that sort of position.

NETFLIX doc about the missing 15year old resident (Emanuela Orlandi) is shocking, did that happen under his watch?
