The crimes for which Tate has been arrested are against the law in most countries.

Greta has not broken any laws.

If you respect law and democracy, even you could see there is a difference here.
Of course he sees the difference. It's quite interesting to see the extremes people will go to when they've accidentally argued something into a corner.

All documentaries thus far have shown the parents to be fully supportive and selfless.

They sound awful.

What agendas would those be? Dad is a retired bit-part actor and mum is an opera singer. Their net worth isn't officially publicised so it would be interesting to know what helped you form this opinion?
Her mother wrote a book about their family and how life is for them after Greta gained celebrity.....indeed, she must be a terrible parent.

you sound surprised.

The same people that complain about the lack of male role models are at the same time Trump nutriders.

That should tell you pretty much everything you need to know about their idea of what a male model is.

Andrew Tate and his followers create victims through sexual assault and damage.

Greta makes proven science more public and people react appropriately or bury their head in the sand / result to sexist comments and comparisons.
Greta has contributed to the brainwashing of a generation that believe climate change is a global catastrophe the likes we have never seen. That they are the victims of generations past. That the only way to fight it is through protest and complaint. That gluing yourself to a road or throwing soup at paintings is more constructive than hard work and innovation.

She epitomises woke culture and I would argue her followers are far more dangerous than Andrew Tate's because her way has been normalised and has far more sway over the mainstream. Andrew Tate on the other hand remains marginalised.

Glaciers in Switzerland shrunk by 6% in 2022. Prior to that year, 2% shrinkage was considered a bad year. I don't think she is brainwashing

Glaciers shrinking is not a catastrophe for human existence. It's an issue that needs to be given the appropriate priority and resources given the risk.

Throwing tins of soup over unique paintings in countries that account for very low carbon emissions achieves nothing.

Hey, we have a special thread where we mock and hate people gluing their hands to the streets and stuff in museums, you're very welcome to contribute there
https://www.englishforum.ch/complain...-protests.html

While I disagree with the protest methods, the climate change thingy it's happening. I'm not sure it's catastrophe per se, but for a lot of people with low ability to adapt to change, it will surely be a catastrophe.

It you are unable to differentiate between the themes of throwing cans of soup, Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tates hideous crimes, then you either need to read more widely, be more highly functioning and / or you really have serious problems.

Well with you its easy to differentiate, you approve of one and disapprove of the other. I'm saying they're both bad for society.

Not necessarily. Life is full of challenges anyway in developing countries. And, lower literacy means a lot less of collective memory: people still calls hurricanes and earthquakes that happen every 20-30 years unprecedented events.

If something went really wrong, it would be very interesting to see who is better prepared mentally to face the challenges that we created ourselves? A society that lives more in the present and will keep pushing without thinking too much, or a society that looks a lot to the past and will blame it on itself?

Personally, I don't think he should have been banned. It wasn't him but me who brought up Margaret Thatcher and his comment which got him a ban was obviously just for laughs.

The comment on women not knowing enough about shaving the "fine and exquisite contours of the male face" was also for laughs.

No one can write that without irony and with a straight face
