Thatcher came to power on 4 May 1979 – 28 November 1990 (leader of Conservative party and leader of the opposition from 11 February 1975)

and...............Ronnie Raygun on January 20, 1981 - January 20, 1989

Before both of their terms in power, they were relatively unknown people in politics so your statement doesn't quite add up !
https://www.reuters.com/article/idIN171732735420130408

When Margaret Thatcher met Ronald Reagan in April 1975

In the case of Reagan and Thatcher, however, the friendship was between equals and as a result America was more powerfully and directly influenced by a foreign leader than any since the founding of the republic.

Looks like she was his mentor and he was hers. How sweet.

Re: Andrew and Tristan Tate

As for role models, I think it's not so much about specific skills (driving) or situations (foreskin), but about building character traits. Obviously there are no absolutes in this, but...

I don't think mothers can teach their sons to control their own aggression and strength as well as the father. Least of all those mothers who claim that there are no differences between the sexes despite the fact that romantically most are interested in men only or predominantly.

Teach and build resilience in the face of adversity, which requires a decent amount of stoicism and control of the emotions. You're not a flag that turns with the wind. Stand by your principles - whatever the universe throws at you, you'll manage as long as you remember to get back up one more time than it made you stumble. The result is predicability and reliability.

Push yourself, explore, and expand your limits. Assessing risks, and avoiding them or taking a calculated one, a fundamental necessity for that. One specific outcome is being street smart - just one example.

Reading Bossa Nova's description of her father in #62, I picture a principled man. That requires standing by one's beliefs, especially when doing so get difficult, i.e. resilience and stoicism (see above). His model will probably be what she selects for in her mates, one of the many things fathers used to do by controlling who was allowed in the home.

I find Tom's examples in #147 quite interesting. They're all "things" activities, manipulation of objects, that's generally considered to be men's stuff. That's just an observation, Tom, not a critique.

It was intended like that. I was feeling so insecure in my role as a father amongst all the alpha-males on the forum that just had to list those sorts of things (all of which I have done, I hasten to add).

Off topic (if there is one): I will forever be amazed how people portray Reagan as an actor or somehow new and naive to politics when he became president. He was governor of the largest US state twice.

True but USA state politics and International politics are not really the same, despite the size & wealth of California.

I think RayGun relied more on Thatcher than the other way around, but the relation was seriously good, symbiotic and beneficial to both countries

Like her or not, she had integrity and did what she said she would to the best of her abilities, unlike some of the past and current German incumbents.

Tom Torero. Another of the style of Tate. Ended up killing himself.

You see, the thing with these online gurus, whatever they promote, they have to keep feeding the algorithm to make money. Otherwise they drop in the ratings and earnings suffer. The pressure can be immense. If they try to step down or moderate their views, they are turned on by the their fans.

And if their hosters cancel their account - they're lost.

It's sad .

Thanks for red rep (again) . Are you so insecure in your masculinity that you feel that if you read any more of this thread, you might start visiting the female section of H and M?

Seriously?
You are still a whiny misandrist. Grow up.

just that that men and women are different and that each bring different perspectives to a child's upbringing.
This is exactly the point! Whilst the internet and social media are an enormous factor, there's zero chance of internet regulation coming in anytime soon, unless it comes from the parents.

What can't be healthy though is the sacrifice of millennia of human evolution of gender roles, particular family gender roles, over a very short space of time all in the name of sexism.

I think this is an over-simplification. But I do believe gender is being trivialised in recent years. Bottom line: whatever we identify ourselves as (hetero, LGTBQ+, etc) 99.999% of us are XX or XY. Biological gender isn't a choice.

Genders have innate behaviour, and it is not easy to navigate kids through this in modern times. And I'd say it is harder for boys.
