What is going on over there? From the news I caught so far it appears that they are intentionally targeting Americans and British.

Watching it live. Religious scum at their worst. Actually they targeted everyone (Hotels, hospital, bus stands, cinema halls attacked) one batch of fanatic scum looks like are holed up in some 5 star hotel and going for "prized" British and US passport holders.

English, American, Australian, Spanish, Japanese, Norway, Canada and Singapore. Seven english people. And lots and lots of Indians.
The city is under curfew and military control. People are being told not to leave their houses. My in laws were due to go to Chennai today for a function. They're not sure whether trains are running, but they're no longer going.

I just don't understand how anybody can be so callous as to take a life. It baffles me how people can somehow do it in gods name.

And out come the conspiracy theorists already. I like the second one, from back in 2002, from an anonymous source, probably thoroughly fact checked.
Perhaps they were mind controlled by the Lizard people if we're going to start considering from every angle.

Lashkar-e-Taiba ( Army of the Righteous) is most probably behind this.

There is some unidentified motive to punish India. They came by boat to Indian shores to seek out Westerners, heavily armed, took lives indiscriminately, caused damage to icons, claimed to be some group previously unknown but appear to be highly co-ordinated, and resourceful ... and quickly labelled as linked to Al Qaeda by MSM.

It is not like India is loved by the Muslim extremists either.

This is just horrible! India is still one of the places I'd like to visit. The scary thing is that this type of thing can now happen anywhere!
Look at Egypt, Bali, Thailand, US, Spain, etc.

While this is a terrible incident, I wouldn't get too tied up about not visiting India just yet. There are religious extremists everywhere and not just Islamic either. As far as I am aware this is still a relatively isolated incident(not taking away from the tragedy).
I am hopefull (maybe naively) that we are going to have a new order in world politics shortly. Terror attacks like this one can only play into the hands of the terrorists if there is some sympathy or empathy from some corner. After the 9/11 attacks I believe that the all guns blazing tactics of Bush played into the hands of the terrorists. They got a fight and their point about the pushy capitalist governments of the west was to some extent proven.
If there is an attitude of tolerance, just maybe the terrorists will not be able to gather as much of a following Unfortunately this does nothing for the families of those who lost their lives last night in Mumbai but lets hope the world can get over these tragedies and move forward.
I will refrain from a prayer for those who died, because religion had a role to play in this tragedy as well many others that have occurred throughout history.

India is nice to visit. Having rellies in the Southern part, I enjoy visiting the Central ( Deccan ) and Northern parts, often by myself, never really felt unsafe ( I am of South East Asian ethnicity and probably don't draw attention that much ).
