Irish Ministers to Quit

Jokes aside, this is what the SMH says:

Irish ministers to quit en masse in cost-cutting exercise

Quote:
A WHOLE tier of Irish ministers will resign after Easter so that the Premier, Brian Cowen, can reduce their number as part of cost-saving measures contained in an emergency budget aimed at saving the republic's economy
Quote:
Photographic identification will be required for collecting Ireland's generous social welfare payments from post offices, the Government said yesterday, while a crackdown on benefit fraud led to 10 per cent of claimants' payments being suspended.

Re: Irish Ministers to Quit

lets add some meaningful numbers and reduce the 'tabloid' posting:

20 junior misters will resign. the 20 junior ministries will be reduced to 15 and some of the previous 20 ministers will be given the new ministries!

and the social welfare system is far from generous! at least compared to the CH system!
