Don't get it. Why is a long list alarmist If the world warms up I'd expect the length of the list to approach infinity.

Hey I don't need an opinion. All I need is the data when it comes to science.

Because if it's caused by solar cycles - there is no controlling it. Therefore there is nothing you can do about it. There's only so much worry you can dedicate to something you have no control over, hence alarmist.

Check the links above - the global cycle thing is a nice safety blanket to cuddle up in, but scientifically inaccurate on a world scale. The data doesn't support the myth.

One could say the same about using models.
Or the shenanighans at East Anglia/Penn State (was it Penn state or UPenn? - can't remember now)
Or the safety/delusion of believeing that one can control nature.

There is such a thing as overplaying your hand in an effort to get people to take you serioiusly (I don't mean you personally, I'm referring to the media).

I will read the links tomorrow though - thanks for posting them.
Off to dreamland.......

Re: New Global "Warming" Film Reveals Shocking Hidden Data

you can time global warming depending on who wins the superbowl. it's on a graph. I saw it!

ok, ok. All you gotta do is follow the money. Gov't gives money to scientists, gov't want control, people higher than gov't control gov't.

Here is something very cool. On Jesse Ventura's new show, there are scientists who predict a solar maximum on 2012. Right now the sun has hardly any flares at all. Strangely inactive. Then they expect the solar storm to turn off power grids for months perhaps. And, since electricity powers gas pumps and water pumps, it's a good idea to stock up. Of course, everyone will laugh at you, until you're right.

http://www.casttv.com/shows/conspira...-jesse-ventura

It's on the last episode.

Bored, so I'll take the bait. (and a little drunk)

Take your own advice, follow the money, follow the money of the opinions of people who have to spend no money on research, follow the opinion of private companies who would prefer that inaction be the status quo.

Tell me, how are we to have an informed opinion of our effect on the environment except through publicly accountable groups? Or do you honestly believe we have no effect on our environment?

EDIT: Here's a hint on how private parties may help, you should look into the views of insurance companies on the matter, an industry that has much at stake.

Of course it's ridiculous. Everyone knows you're supposed to plot global average temperature versus the number of pirates.

Also, water vapour itself is greatest greenhouse gas.
It's not as simple as that.
Water vapour is not the dominant greenhouse gas

It's not really a very good argument to say that 'my bad theory is ok because your theory is flawed'.

Not in that article. That article shows exactly what I think is the motivation behind the skeptics, that they don't want to do anything about it in case they disadvantage themselves against everyone else.
