Corruption, Civil Liberties 'n' Stuff

Due to the repetitive, tedious nature of threads such as

"What are civil liberties like in wonderful Swissland compared to POHMland?"
"Is wonderful Swissland as horrendously corrupt as the USA?"

Here are the links so that people who can't work Google can still answer their questions for themselves!!!!!

CORRUPTION LEAGUE TABLE

CIVIL LIBERTIES LEAGUE TABLE

EASE OF DOING BUSINESS RANKINGS

IS BARACK OBAMA A COMMUNIST?

DO I NEED A UK VISA?

CAN I LIVE IN ZURICH ON XXXXXX CHF PER YEAR?

IS XXXXXX CHF PER YEAR A GOOD SALARY FOR A VERY GENERALISED JOB DESCRIPTION?

HOW LONG IS A PIECE OF STRING
?
Classical Mechanics answer:
In the Middle ages,a farmer had to tie the sheaves of cut wheat (or
similar crop) at harvest time in his field. He carried twine to do this.
The average length of twine used was approx 13.5 inches.
Quantum Mechanics answer...

Requests for additions to stave off that "I feel my life-force haemorrhaging away..." feeling are happily received.

Re: Corruption, Civil Liberties 'n' Stuff

I have a coffee and a packet of shortbread cream biscuits. I'm happy as a pig in muck.
This has nothing to do with any of this, but I felt like sharing.

There was a Horizon program on the string question, on the BBC, quite recently.

For me corruption means I'll have a tedious ten minutes pulling files off a harddisk. Bad corruption means I'll have a tedious 4 hours pulling files off a failing harddisk.

As for the other type of corruption I'm at a loss. I never get backhanders to ensure that a competing companies data is lost - permanently. I'm feeling really left out

Hhmm apart from the length of string issue, I'd be best off at home so. What I guessed years ago. At home string can be as long and short as you want.

Re: Corruption, Civil Liberties 'n' Stuff

Interesting data. Although I had to look at it for a minute to figure out that lower numbers are worse for the corruption index. If one calls something a corruption index, then I'd assume that as the rank gets lower, and the number gets higher, corruption increases.

WHAT IS RULE 1?
Many feel that Rule 1 was best expressed by Mark Twain when he stated, "Soap, education and dating a Swiss are not as sudden as a massacre, but they are more deadly in the long run."

CAN I SURVIVE IN SWITZERLAND ON CHF150?
No. Don't be a silly-billy.
